Interviewed May 2010 in Philadelphia, PA (took 3 weeks)
Extensive for me after so many years working within the institution. My counter part had no such obligation and was given the job without going through the interviewing process.

Weigh base salary against present salary and the ability to gain additional money from overtime. Ask yourself is a salary position with title > your current position with less responsibility and the opportunity to make overtime.

I got the interview through an Employee Referral and the interview consisted of a 1:1 Interview, a Group/Panel Interview and a Background Check.

Interviewed Feb 2011 in Philadelphia, PA (took 2 months)
I was to three interviews (does not include the phone screen). All of the people I interacted with were very professional, pleasant and helpful. Not sure of the culture, as I think you need to be in the workplace for more than just an interview.

Interviewed Apr 2009 (took 1 week)
well organized and planned; all individuals were very professional and nice; the more initials you have after your name the better you will be received; if you are planning for a management position you will be interviewed by a panel of three to four individuals

Interviewed Oct 2009 (took a day)
As a whole the interview process at HUP compared to other companies (non hospital) is fairly unimpressive. I have personally interviewed for several positions internally and have always come out with a sense of disappointment from each of the hiring managers. I believe there is a huge lack of organizational training for their managers in regards to the interview process.

Interviewed Oct 2008 in Philadelphia, PA (took 4+ weeks)
Other than the obvious tip of selling your skills and experience, I found it beneficial to simply be yourself. Since you will be working with your colleagues for the majority of your waking day, it is important to have some type of rapport with them. Make sure the work environment is something that motivates you.

Interviewed Nov 2009 (took 3 days)
My resume was submitted to a department from an application pool where I submitted my resume. I was called from a department a couple weeks later and called in for an interview. I interviewed with two people. I was called back again for a second interview with two other people. The interviews went really well, but they needed to hire someone quickly and found someone already working within the organization.
