Adjunct Faculty Interview

Adjunct Faculty

I applied through a recruiter and interviewed at University of Phoenix.

Interview Details – I was first solicited by a rep through LinkedIn, who referred me to a recruiter. The recruiter asked me to fill out paperwork regarding my credentials, including a brief written interview. Following the written interview, I completed a phone interview. After the phone interview, I was invited to a group assessment where I was asked to make a short presentation from my content area (sample lesson).

Interview Question – No difficult questions; very straightforward, scripted, and predictable. Describe a time when you effectively handled a difficult student or situation. How do you know when a student is struggling?   Answer Question

Negotiation Details – No negotiation. Take it or leave it.

Enrollment Advisor Interview

Enrollment Advisor

Interviewed at University of Phoenix

Interview Details – First received a phone call asking about the understanding of the job. Based on what you idea of the job is and experience you are called in for an interview. The interview is very basic questions with a role play of a student conversation. I believe now all interviews are more behavioral questions. After that you are either offered the job or denied.

Interview Question – If new to speaking with students the role play is the toughest since I never did before. Depending on the manager you can have a difficult conversation trying to figure the student (interviewer) out and understanding the need to go to school.   View Answer

Negotiation Details – All new advisers started at the same salary, no negotiation.
