Following the written interview, I completed a phone interview. After the phone interview, I was invited to a group assessment where I was asked to make a short presentation from my content area (sample lesson).

First received a phone call asking about the understanding of the job. Based on what you idea of the job is and experience you are called in for an interview. The interview is very basic questions with a role play of a student conversation. I believe now all interviews are more behavioral questions. After that you are either offered the job or denied.

    Interview Questions
    • If new to speaking with students the role play is the toughest since I never did before. Depending on the manager you can have a difficult conversation trying to figure the student (interviewer) out and understanding the need to go to school.   View Answer

The company has hired an outside firm to do the interview process and it is all based on experiential questions. It requires you to give detailed experiences as answer to questions. I know this is the new trend. So have fun. Really has no value but some consultant sold them on the value.

Hiring and Interview process have changed significantly over the years and I expect they will continue to change as time moves on. The hiring process usually starts with the training team who sort through applications and resumes. Actual interviews in later stages are usually conducted by active managers and director.

    Interview Questions
    • Expect questions related to customer service, core values of the university, working with difficult team members and customers.   Answer Question
