Application

I applied online. The process took 4+ weeks. I interviewed at University of Washington (Seattle, WA) in August 2011.

Interview

The phone interview was very easy and conversational. Mostly clarifying prior experience. The in-person interviews consisted of multiple one-on-one interviews back to back. Some of them were structured while others seemed to be just an open conversation. The unstructured interviews were slightly uncomfortable since they apparently wanted me to lead the conversation and didn't ask more than a few questions. The environment was fairly casual and relaxed. After the initial interview it took about a week to hear back. After the second round it took about two weeks, but they were good at communication and let me know about delays. The office seemed great and everyone was very happy and friendly.
