I applied through other source and the process took a day - interviewed at University of Western Ontario in August 2009.

Interview Details – In my case, my former supervisor introduced me to the professor at UWO. He needed a person at that time.
Interview is quite simple and fast. I brought my CV, he read the CV and asked several questions, no academic ones. About 10 day after the interview, I followed up, and got the offer

Interview Question – There is no difficult questions. Basically all questions are about what you can do. But different professors might have different ways to interview candidates   Answer Question

Negotiation Details – I did not negotiate. At most time, the salary depends on the funding a professor have.

Librarian Interview

Anonymous Interview Candidate

I applied online and the process took 2 days - interviewed at University of Western Ontario in April 2011.

Interview Details – After an initial phone interview with the committee, I was flown out for a full day interview, meet & greet, lunch, talk with the director and department, and presentation. Everyone was welcoming and made me feel as comfortable as is possible in such a situation. After the day was complete, other librarians invited me to their regular after work event to meet in more of a relaxed atmosphere. It was a great way to get to know possible future colleagues and for them to get to know me as well, even if it meant it went beyond the expected 8-5.
