Manager of Rail Operations Interview

Anonymous Interview Candidate

I applied online and the process took 5 days - interviewed at Utah Transit Authority in June 2013.

Interview Details – UTA's interview process is behavioral based, and it does not accurately help to select the person who best fist the job. Every situation is different and a person will not treat one problem the same everytime. I am not impressed with the questions they ask as they do not reflect the whole person just how they answer questions.

Interview Question – There were no technical questions asked they wanted to know how we would handle a specific situation and what the results were.   Answer Question

Programmer Analyst Interview

Programmer Analyst
Salt Lake City, UT

I applied online and the process took 4 months - interviewed at Utah Transit Authority in August 2009.

Interview Details – There is a basic programming test. Focusing on MS .NET with either VB.NET or C# answers accepted. There are SQL specific questions with MS SQL being the focus. After the test the highest scoring individuals are asked in for an interview. The interview will be with the line managers and will revolve around personality questions. There will be some technical questions. As a hint do not put down VB.NET as one of the managers is a fan of that language. After that HR is a bit slow but you should hear a hiring confirmation within 4-6 weeks post background check.

Interview Question – There questions on the test are basic but are scored on a scale. The more detailed the answer the better. Be prepared to get questions on SQL cursors.   Answer Question

Negotiation Details – They will come in low on pay usually you can counter but be prepared to give them reason for counter.
