Interview Details – The process was tedious. Valley Crest thinks very highly of themselves. It's a great thing, but I think some of their managers think a little too high of themselves. 4 interview. All out of town. Final interview took 4+ hrs. Toured me around like the job was mine.
Interview Question – A regional manager was the most unexpected part of the process. Everyone was kind, until I met him. Answer Question

Declined Offer – Interviewed in Calabasas, CA Jun 2009 – Reviewed Jan 23, 2013
Interview Details – 7 interviews over the course of two years. Seems to be a revolving door. He didn't know I was there, sat with me for five minutes in a dark conference room, was completely distracted, didn't ask for my resume, got a phone call and left. That was after I waited for over an hour in a silent room where no one came to check on me until he happened to pass by and ask why I was sitting there. Ridiculous. HR tells me they pay well enough, but their benefits are minimal. Somehow, strangely enough, I'm offered the position. WHAT?! They have a bidding war with another potential employer and lose...thank goodness. The guy is also rumored to have a crappy temper. "Thick skin" is mentioned repeatedly throughout the process. I'd say, steer clear, unless things have changed.
Interview Question – What are you doing here and why are you sitting here? Seriously. View Answer

Accepted Offer – Interviewed in San Jose, CA Mar 2012 – Reviewed Apr 10, 2012
Interview Details – The process began with a 1 on 1 interview and led to multiple "ride alongs" with current Account Managers which was very informative and a great way to gain insight into the position. The company was hiring at several local locations so over the course of 2 weeks I was able to meet with and ride along with several branch locations and allowed a say in where I was placed. Everyone was very open and offered great advice during the process and I am excited about joining this cohesive team.

Three step process. first interviewed by field supevisor in group of 8 other potential hires. Second Interview with Branch Manager-interview was a fishing expedition to pick my brain. Third interview was a phone interview with national sales manager. at the end of the interview he asked me to send him some information about a large meeting I was attending, indicating he wanted to attend and also meet with me.
I emailed him the information and never heard another word from him or anyone else. I tried to contact him by phone and email to no avail. Again they were on a fishing trip.

Interview Details –
A recruiter from the company contacted me after reviewing my resume on a popular job search site. The first conversation was what I had expected. He offered some general information about ValleyCrest and the Estimator position they wanted to fill. He asked about my interests and expectations. It was an easy, friendly conversation. He forwarded my information to the Chief Estimator to set up an interview. I believe the initial conversation was on a Tuesday, and I got a response the next day regarding an interview, which was scheduled for that upcoming Friday.
It was the easiest interview I have ever had. It was very casual and comfortable. The Chief Estimator told me a little about the job. I got the usual “tell me about yourself” kinds of questions. He showed me the programs they used. I met a few of the Estimators. He wanted to introduce me to the other young women in the office, but they were on vacation. I felt like he was trying to sell the job to me rather than the other way around. I felt good about the interview after it was all over.
Monday morning I got a call from the recruiter letting me know to look out for my offer letter. The Chief Estimator emailed the offer, which I accepted and started work that Friday.
Interview Question – Tell me about yourself. Answer Question
Negotiation Details – I didn’t negotiate. It was my first professional position after college, and I believed I was offered a fair salary with good benefits. (I could actually afford to live on my own, so I was extremely happy.) Negotiating is obviously more reasonable if you have experience.
