Interviewed Jun 2010 (took 1+ week)
Began process with an informational interview. The company was responsive and management were happy to take time to share candid info. Followed-up with an in-person interview with hiring mgr and future colleague who were both passionate about the company. They then set me up to phone interview with one of their clients to get client input into the hiring process. The process was well-rounded and gave me a good idea of the job and who I'd be working with.

Interviewed Apr 2009 (took 2 days)
I guess that they urgent to find a person for the position, so it is pretty efficient.
I offer the onsite interview only once. Talked to HR first, then their department VP is in the office, so talked to him for the position. Then a phone interview with its US customer in 2 days. Got the offer.

I am not good at it. But you definitely could negotiate with your benefits. It also depends on the timing, like the urgency for a position, your salary requirements etc.

Interviewed Aug 2010 in Bellevue, WA (took 2 weeks)
The interviewers each had an area they wanted to cover, such as what kinds of projects I had managed, their size, whether there had been off-shore resources involved. They were particularly interested in my contact with Chinese offshore resources, since I'd managed a large project involving on-shore, off-shore and near-shore resources for Microsoft, that it involved coordinating these groups of people through managers that reported to me, and directly. They wanted to know if I was familiar with .NET technologies, Microsoft groups, teams, cultures. They were also very interested in the fact that I had had a business of my own, and had had clients within the Seattle area, providing custom solutions, and using off-shoring as a way of making up resources I was missing, as well how I selected people and determined their skill sets, whether they would be able to work together, how responsive they were to schedules, deadlines, new requirements added to the scope.

Negotiation Details
Not a negotiating culture. What they offer you at the beginning is pretty close, to exactly what you will have to accept to get the job. Even when I thought that my counteroffers were agreed to, the next day or even the same day they would gradually wear you down to their original offer.
Other Details
I Applied Online and the interview consisted of a Phone Interview, a 1:1 Interview and a Group/Panel Interview.
