Interviewed Apr 2010 in New York, NY (took 1+ week)
Called an old contact and a job was mentioned that was within my area so sent in my resume. A couple weeks later had a couple one on one interviews which were very laid back with little question on actual skills or past experience just some nonsense questions that were kinda weird but nothing challenging. After a bit of a wait received a conditional job offer and then went in for a drug test and they ran a quick check to make sure I wasn't a felon or had bad credit and such.

Negotiation Details
There is room to negotiate and you should up front if you think you can. Once you are in you get little raises every year because the compensation system is so rigid so it really matters where you start from. Even as you get promoted the comp system locks you into your starting amount as you can get a very small % gain when getting a promotion unless you are getting into the Director and above jobs but if you are there you aren't reading this site for advice!
Other Details
The interview consisted of a Phone Interview, a 1:1 Interview, a Drug Test and a Background Check.

Interviewed Feb 2012 in Basking Ridge, NJ (took 2 months)
I had difficulty understanding the VP leading the Process Improvement group - although personable, heavy accent and sometimes mumbled. He basically did a bait and switch with me - told the recruiter he was interested in me for one position then when I interviewed with him - he told me the position was filled and asked if I was interested in lower level position - he also did this with other candidates I spoke with - seemed to be his MO. Interestingly, the position he told me that was filled is still being posted on the Verizon site, the Glassdoor site and others. In addition, someone I know took a job under him and he said the hiring VP lied (yes he used that term) to him about the level of the role and once he got on board he found out otherwise. Told him he would be a director and when he came on board he was listed as manager and now is in a cube for first time in 20 years.
Interview Questions
Reason for Declining
Lack of integrity of the hiring VP. Could not see myself working for someone I could not trust.
Other Details
I applied In-Person and the interview consisted of a Phone Interview and a 1:1 Interview.

Interviewed Nov 2011 in Basking Ridge, NJ (took a day)
The interview process consisted of two hour-long panel interviews. Both panels asked similar questions about resume, leadership experience, Verizon products / services and telecommunications in general. One focused a little more on leadership / teamwork and the other on business and technology. The interviewers were nice, cordial. Heard back a little after a week by phone. The position is fairly new so still waiting to learn more about it.

Interviewed Feb 2009 in New York, NY (took a day)
Five interviewers mostly asking about leadership experience and knowledge of company. Pretty much knowing the technology used and how it works was key and being able to elaborately explain previous projects was key. The array of questions where coming from all angles, but the interviewers were extremely nice and made it more like a conversation than anything else.
