Interviewed Mar 2010 in North Charleston, SC (took 2 weeks)
Interview process: I had two phone interviews and one computer assessment to apply for the role of Tech Coordinator at Verizon Wireless. The phone interviews consisted of behavioral-based interview questions. The computer assessment was a timed assessment of basic tech support related questions that anyone who's taken an A+ Certification class could easily pass.
I was offered the job because I had cellular sales experience and had worked in customer service before.
Post job offer: I now work at a call center and take back-to-back calls dealing with Blackberries, Apple products, broadband cards, and aspects of the Verizon network. I do fairly well every month with customer reviews, which are largely the basis for performance reviews.
In my years with the company, Verizon has offered prepaid tuition assistance of $8000 a year, which I've taken advantage of. It's a good company to work for.

Received and Accepted Offer

Interviewed Jan 2011 (took 4 days)
Initial interview with corp recruiter (simple PC competency questions), referred to do testing (IQ, call center situations, typing, tech support skills) immediately received results and was scheduled for interview, returned for 1:1 interview and was simple vanilla interview questions about resume and dates of employment, received a call for a QA interview (final interview) which was basically to answer three questions regarding each company of employment (likes, dislikes, something challenging done) very plain and dry. After which I received an offer via telephone and my acceptance would be given electronically. A 3rd party would conduct my background check. (Note: the 3rd party is very slow on their investigation and could delay your employment, days if not weeks, if not months.) Do not lie or embellish anything on your resume or application, if they find even a date incorrect in their investigation they will immediately resend the job offer. I was warned of this multiple times (which was kinda discouraging... like immediately saying "we don't trust you" but just means they mean business).
