Bra Specialist at Victoria's Secret Stores

Accepted Offer – Interviewed in Miami, FL Mar 2012 – Reviewed Mar 18, 2013

Interview Details – I got this job through a friend who was already working there but even without an employee referral your odds of getting an interview are high if you act professionally and come dressed in black (since that IS the dress code). They usually hire seasonal employees and keep the best ones at the end of the season and unless you're in lead/management positions it will be part-time or seasonal. As a brand rep you go through a group interview and then there is a follow up with another manager (that way there is no bias I'm guessing). The hiring manager asks a question and then each one being interviewed takes turns answering each question. They are big on "listening to the customer and satisfying her needs", because they want a customer for life, not someone who buys just one product. I noticed that among those I was interviewed with, the women who showed too much love for VS weren't hired either (probably because it could be a loss prevention issue). It is wise to be familiar with VS products and merchandise but you don't have to go overboard and name the top 10 bras. After the interview the hiring manager thanked us and off we go.

They call you back for training if you get the job. Training is paid for and even though you're working, it's fun and very interactive. There's Pink, VS, Beauty, VSX Sport, and Sales Support, so the training you get depends on which section they hired you for.

Interview Question – As an entry level position, none of the questions were difficult, just use your best judgement.   Answer Question

Negotiation Details – There is no negotiation. If you have a lot of relevant work experience you can probably negotiate $0.50 more to your wage but they aren't very flexible.

Lingerie Sales Associate at Victoria's Secret Stores

Accepted Offer – Interviewed in Mar 2009 – Reviewed Mar 19, 2013

Interview Details – Basically it's a group interview. I applied in the store and talked to the hiring manager right then and there. Make sure you go to the cashier and ask for a application and hand it in to the hiring manager. I got offered a interview when I met with the hiring manager and said to come in two days. On the day of the interview I wore all black like they do at the store make sure you look extra polished they will take notice of that. Be very happy and smile when asked the questions give them a very well thought out answer that isn't vague but in depth. It took a few days after that but I got a call and they asked me to come in! They do check your references make sure you put the right numbers on there.

NOTE!! If you do not have any job experience they won't mind if you put a neighbors number or someone you've baby sat for down for the reference section, you need three.

NOTE!!! Whatever other questions you see in these posts go over them, you need to have yourself prepared they love people who know what they are talking about and even if you do not have job experience take those questions and relate it to you or a school experience or from a time you shopped at a store.

Interview Question – They will ask you the following questions, these are just what they asked me.

Tell me what your name is and a fun fact about yourself.
Why Victoria's Secrets?
What did you like/dislike about your last job?
What does customer service mean to you?
Describe yourself in three words.
Do you have open availability?
  Answer Question

Negotiation Details – I wouldn't suggest you negotiate if its your first job, but if you have experience try. I didn't negotiate.
