I applied through other source and the process took 1 week - interviewed at Vitamin Cottage Natural Grocers.
Interview Details – It was a wee bit intimidating walking in to 3 person panel of interviewers. But, within a few minutes I was not nervous because they made me feel welcome and were friendly and professional. Interview was a great experience. They genuinely showed interest in my skills and work experience.
Interview Question – I felt prepared for the interview, so didn't think it was difficult. I was just my normal transparent self :) Answer Question
I applied online and interviewed at Vitamin Cottage Natural Grocers.
Interview Details – I applied online and was contacted by email a few weeks later for an interview. I interviewed with the store manager and assistant manager. I was asked about my previous experience, why I wanted to work there, what I knew about the company, and some fact based questions about natural food. There were a few situational questions, so you should have some anecdotes from work or school prepared. I was pretty nervous and thought I had given a couple lame answers but two days later I got a call back offering me a position.
I applied online and the process took 1+ week - interviewed at Vitamin Cottage Natural Grocers.
Interview Details – I applied online and was contacted for an interview about three days later. I met with the store manager, regional manager, and an HR recruiter. We discussed my employment experience and why I was seeking employment with them. It definitely helped that I had plenty of experience in grocery retail. They explained more about the position, benefits, employee discount, etc. It ended on a good note and the store manager told me they would contact me the following week with their decision. Exactly one week later they called and offered me a position.
Interview Question – The questions weren't difficult at all. They mainly asked about my experiences with previous employers. They are also very serious about customer service, so expect many questions about that if you are interviewing for this position. For example, what does great customer service mean to you? Answer Question
Negotiation Details – There was no negotiation. They offered me a lot more than I was making at my other job with the potential for a raise after only a few months of employment, so I definitely did not complain.
Very Easy Interview
I applied online and the process took 2 days - interviewed at Vitamin Cottage Natural Grocers in April 2012.
Interview Details – Met with two store managers and discussed my previous background in grocery retail. They asked me about my expectations for an employer and informed me of the benefits and employee discount offered through the company.
Interview Question – It was a very straight forward interview. There were no difficult questions, just those about previous experience and how that experience related to the job I'd applied for. Answer Question
Negotiation Details – There was no negotiation. It was a flat offer and when I tried to negotiate, I was told I could take it or leave it. I needed the job, so I took it.
I applied through an employee referral and the process took a day - interviewed at Vitamin Cottage Natural Grocers in October 2011.
Interview Details – I think the kind of interview you'll get with these folks is mostly based on who's doing the interview. The company is a bit of a mess, in my opinion.
Interview Question – I didn't find any of their questions difficult. Answer Question
The process took 8 weeks - interviewed at Vitamin Cottage Natural Grocers in February 2012.
Interview Details –
The process started by sending me a 1.5 hour set of technical questions, which I filled out and submitted to the HR contact. This process was the most straightforward and transparent of the entire experience, from here it went downhill very fast.
For interviewing for such a high-level management role, I was pretty floored I was never asked any technical questions in-person, I was probed for generalities such as 'have you worked with x or y', but generally speaking, the interview was a huge turn-off. I felt like they were trying to make a judgement call based on personality, which is very common(for non-IT jobs), however, after what I felt was a very good interview on my side, I came to the determination that this company really has a horribly run IT organization, or possibly their HR is lacking. I received no feedback after the interview and it just went into a black hole. I followed up 3 times via email to the hiring manager and never got a response to my queries.
I'd avoid this organization at any costs, if this experience is any reflection of how they treat other candidates. I don't waste others time and I'd appreciate the same courtesy. That being said, I will be telling everyone I know who works in my field about this experience. People deserve to be treated with respect and professionalism, something that was completely lacking in this overall experience.
Interview Question – I can't recall specific questions I was asked, I just know they were very general and not technically focused. Answer Question
I applied online and the process took a day - interviewed at Vitamin Cottage Natural Grocers in January 2008.
Interview Details – I got hired by the vice president of the company
Interview Question – what do you want to do later in life? Answer Question
The process took 4+ weeks - interviewed at Vitamin Cottage Natural Grocers in June 2010.
Interview Details – Met with a recruiter. He was easy to get in contact with...I also got a quick phone interview. I had a total of 3 interviews, two of which were face to face. I was overall impressed with the picture he painted of the company. I was told that the training was extensive....but it was not.
Interview Question – No surprises on the questions....typical situational stuff...IE explain a tough situation that had to be resolved, etc Answer Question
Negotiation Details – They had a range of pay for the hourly position...I asked for higher and they met it.
