I applied online and the process took 2 weeks - interviewed at Volition.
Interview Details – Job posting on their company website, hiring for temp gig for 1-2 years. Submitted resume and cover letter, got a response asking to write answers to a questionnaire- things like briefly review a game and talk about its strengths and weaknesses, how do you approach challenges, how much do you game, how would you troubleshoot a technical issue. Called back to set up interview, met with two QA Supervisors; pretty straight-forward conversation about previous experience and interests. Played a buggy build of an old project while they watched, and was expected to call-out bugs as they came up.
Interview Question – If you were sealed in this room, with no form of communication with the outside, how would you attempt to get out? Answer Question
Negotiation Details – They said they couldn't pay more than their flat starting rate for temp testers.
Very Easy Interview
I applied online and the process took 1 week - interviewed at Volition in January 2010.
Interview Details – It's changed a lot over the years. It used to be more comprehensive but now has become extremely short because the attitude is focused on temporary work with a layoff date already in mind. Hiring process is one short interview and you are hired based on whether you were liked or not. The only factual information you'll probably get is your hourly wage.
Interview Question – Most unexpected question: Whether or not a guy who was in the room, who had walked out, was married or not. Answer Question
Negotiation Details – Flexible, depending on how soon the position needs to be filled and how many people have applied.
