I applied online. The process took 3 weeksinterviewed at Volkswagen Group of America (Herndon, VA) in March 2011.

Interview

Applied for the graduate program online on its careers website. I received a phone call from an outsourced HR company to do a pre-screening interview consisting of verification of prior entered information (resume, work experience, extra-curricular activities, etc). From there I received a call-back saying they wanted to interview me in the next round, either over Skype or in-person. I chose in-person. HR reviewed my resume for more clarification, then proceeded to question me on my knowledge of VW/Audi (its products, it's marketing campaigns, it's position in the appropriate markets) and some job-specific questions. HR told me it invited only 150 candidates for the second round and would only take 60 into the final round, which consists of a 1 1/2 day interview process. I was fortunate enough to get that call back. From the final round, the company will only hire 10. The final interviews will be with position-specific managers, hoping for the best
