Interviewed Dec 2011 (took 3 weeks)
I had initially applied for the position through Career Builder and a Senior Recruiter from Volt called me immediately. I was very impressed at her promptness as I noticed hundreds of other candidates had applied. She described the position and was very good at selling it to me, as it was not exactly what I was looking for. After our call, she emailed me more information and told me to let her know if I was interested. I immediately replied to tell her I was and she contacted me a few days later to say the client (a company EVERYONE knows) was interested in setting up a phone interview.
The recruiter set up the interview with me and even gave me information to prepare: sample interview questions, how other candidates have been successful, how to relate my past experiences to this position, etc. I appreciated her help and felt prepared going in.
She emailed me immediately after my call with her client's hiring manager to ask how it went. I emailed her back saying it went well and have yet to hear back two weeks later, even though I have contacted her two more times. At this point, it's pretty clear I didn't get the position but that is no reason to not follow-up with me after I've had two interviews and certainly no reason to avoid my emails. The experience overall was pleasant as she provided all of the information needed and looked out for my best interest. However, I thought it was pretty weird I didn't receive another call or email even telling me I didn't get the position. I currently am employed and have been interviewing with other companies so waiting around to hear from a company I had a high interest in isn't exactly the best situation to be in.

Interviewed Mar 2011 in Torrance, CA (took 3 weeks)
You first meet with the Delivery Manager (Recruiting Manager) who would be your direct supervisor. You then interview with the Director of Delivery at the Corporate Office. And then you speak to the Corporate Recruiter on how you think it went. Afterwards, you play the waiting game until they either give you an offer or they don't.

Interviewed Oct 2010 in Sacramento, CA (took a day)
I applied to the position online and was called by the corporate recruiter a few weeks after. I was then set up to meet with the Branch Manager and was told to dress "very nice" because the manager was picky about clothes. I only met with the branch manager and I spoke about my background and experience.

Interviewed Sep 2011 in Boise, ID (took 3 weeks)
I was interviewed on the phone September 28, asked to come in for interview on Oct 3rd.
Interview went very well I thought. Interviewed with the branch manager and the regional manager.
This next part was the most unprofessional, disrespectful and inconsiderate interview I've ever seen.
After the interview I was told I'd hear about a second interview by the end of the week, Oct 7th, that came and went, that next Tuesday I emailed the manager Oct 11th and asked about the follow up, was told he was still doing interviews and would let me know by the end of the week. That came and went again, I happened to run into the Regional Manager at a concert that next Monday, Oct 17th, he asked if I can been asked to come back for a second interview, told him I had not heard back yet. He then told me that he would talk to the Branch Manager and contact me tomorrow. That didn't happen either. I called Friday Oct 21st, no call back. I called again Monday Oct 24th, I got an email back from the manager this time. He explained that he had tried to call and couldn't get through to my phone (all he needed to do was dial the area code), he asked me to call him back. I did.
We spoke for a few minutes, now I know that if you haven't heard back on an interview in 3 weeks, that's not a good thing. So I already know I didn't get the job, just upset that he didn't have consideration for my time.
The next part I felt was very disrespectful, while on the phone he explained to me why I didn't get the job and that he had filled both positions already. He also went on to explain how he really liked me and that if "I had one more position to fill, I'd hire you" I found that insulting, if I was really that close to getting the position, I'd assume I'd get a second interview, which I did not.
I don't feel this is a Volt issue, just an issue with the Manager in Boise. I found this to be the most negative experience in hiring to date. I've worked in the Staffing industry before and never seen this disregard for other's time.

Interviewed Oct 2011 in San Antonio, TX (took 3 days)
I applied three days ago and have still yet to get anything more then a automated email saying they got my application. I have called and left 3 messages only because I know I AM perfect for this job, but still no call. Very unprofessional, they could at least call and tell me that I wasn't a good candidate instead of leaving me hanging.

Interviewed Aug 2011 in San Antonio, TX (took 3 days)
It was very simple, called the recruiter, emailed a resume, came in took a test to judge my knowledge on technical stuff, toured the work place, had 2 interviews and took a drug test. Very straightforward. However there is a weed out process, if you are late to work, from break or from lunch, three times, you are fired, if you fail 2 quizzes during training (there are a total of about 30) you are fired, if you get less than a 90% on the final, you are fired.

Interviewed Feb 2011 in Nashville, TN (took 3 months)
Long, drawn out and in the end a 62 year old (me) did not get interviewed for a job in which I have nearly 30 years experience because I wasn't "technically" strong enough (by eval of resume). Local staff recognized I would be an asset and fought to hire me. Remote hiring authority would not interview, even by phone. One of his peers did, but that did no good. Started process 11/2010 and the position is still open.
Good company, good local people, very negative mind set of remote manager (who is short term with the firm.)
Volt is a good company to be a contractor thru and a local employee, IF you can become one.

Interviewed Oct 2010 (took a day)
The phone interview consisted of the human resources person calling and verifying all of my skills, experience, and references. She then compared them to the requirements of the position to which I applied. I was informed that I was a close match but did not have all of the necessary critical skillset for her to offer me the position. She did not say that I was not a candidate, but I felt ambivalent about what was said and not said. Had this not been just a phone interview, I would have been able to better gauge the interviewer's body language and facial expressions. In this day and age, the phone interview is just like your typical text -- sometimes you can sense the other person's inflections, other times you have no idea what they are thinking or feeling. My advice is to ask and clarify when the waters are muddy.
