Interviewed Jul 2009 (took 2 weeks)
I applied online, followed by frequent attempts to express interest to management at my target store. Three months went by, after which I approached a Vons employee to put in a good word for me with management to get an interview. Within days I got a phone call to arrange for an interview. The interview took about 1 hour. I was asked questions about why I wanted to work there, how I would handle conflicts with other employees, why I thought Vons should hire me, i.e., standard interview questions. Within a week of interview I received my computer training, after which an additional week passed before I was put on schedule.

Interviewed Jul 2011 in Los Angeles, CA (took 2 weeks)
First thing, I went to the Vons website and apply online. Then later on i got an email from a district HR regarding a hiring event in a particular store. I went to that store and got interviewed after 30mins. The interviewer didn't asked me any professional questions, just mostly about my resume. They offered me the job right on the spot and had to do a drug test and a background check.

Interviewed May 2010 in Hacienda Heights, CA (took 2 days)
The interviewer was very pleased with me and had known a little about me since he asked me several questions over the phone. I told him I was recommended by a previous employer at Vons and I told him I was excited to have the opportunity to work at Vons and attempt to learn useful skills and work in a positive environment.

Interviewed Nov 2010 in Los Angeles, CA (took 1 week)
So I applied online because there was a "Hiring Event" going on with the whole company at various locations in Los Angeles county. I got there at 8am and there were maybe 2 dozen people there before me. The manager didn't start interviewing until 9:30 a.m. And they took 6 people at a time, every 45 minutes. I didn't get out of there until noon. The actual interview was 2 minutes long, and I was not asked any professional questions. He didn't seem interested in the fact that I had a college degree, and a lot of experience. He was probably younger than me, and I'm in my early 20's. It was almost like he was looking for hot dumb girls that wouldn't mind being a courtesy clerk for the rest of their life. The experience was horrible. I knew I didn't have the job, though I applied for a different position than what most people were there for. He told me the position was now closed, and that he could "probably offer me a position in courtesy clerk. I believe I was too much for them, or overqualified.

Interviewed Feb 2010 (took a day)
Very basic interview. Go in tell them a brief paragraph about yourself, then take a drug test, fill out some forms so they can do a background check/call previous employers. Then come back the next day and if everything is alright you get hired. They really don't care that much about entry level employees.

Interviewed Jul 2008 in Woodland Hills, CA (took a day)
Asked me about myself. Asked if I had experience. Did not ask me where I got this experience from. Offered a job on the spot. Had to take a drug test on the spot. Manager stuck a saliva-collecting stick in my mouth with about ten seconds notice. Was very weird, but the job was not difficult to get.

Interviewed Jul 2007 in Bakersfield, CA (took 1 week)
I submitted an online application and followed up by personally contacting recruitment at my local store. Within a 3 month period of time I was directed to 3 different individuals to talk to at the same store. It was frustrating. I finally had a one-on-one interview with an assistant manager, consisting of the usual questions like: "Why would you like to work at Vons, What would you do if you had a conflict with a co-worker," etc. I had to take a drug test. I received a folder full of store policy information. From initial interview to actual hire took about a week.

Interviewed Jul 2009 in Los Angeles, CA (took a day)
I went to a job fair at one of the local stores. It was packed and I had to come back 3 different times before I was actually able to interview. It was a one on one interview and I made the interviewer laugh a lot so i breezed through it pretty easily. She said she liked my personality and made me an offer on the spot.
