Interviewed Feb 2009 in Elkton, MD (took 2 days)
It was an on campus interview where I attended an information session the day before the interviews were conducted. On the day of the interview I was interviewed by 4 groups with two people in each group. The work culture at Gore is very team oriented. They want to see that you are willing to get input from others before running off and making a decision on your own. There are no bosses at Gore so they want to know that you work well in team settings. They also like to see that you are technically capable and a self-motivated individual.

Interviewed Jan 2009 in Newark, DE (took a day)
I was flown over to DE and was interviewed by a handful of people.
The funny thing was that after I was offered a position, I was flown again for a 2-day house-hunting trip.
They then asked me to stop by, and I met with 5-6 more people. The meeting felt like an interrogation, although I was already given the position.
There was no room for negotiation at my level, although there is a reason- their benefits are very good. When I left, I had accrued less than a few shares of their private stock, which totaled to close to $20K!

Negotiation Details
I would try to negotiate non-salary items along with salary items, like vacation, tuition reimbursement, relocation package. My relocation package was quite generous, and is mainly handled by a contract agency.
Other Details
I Applied Online and the interview consisted of a Phone Interview, a 1:1 Interview, a Group/Panel Interview, a Drug Test and a Background Check.

Interviewed Feb 2011 in Newark, DE (took 2 weeks)
Gore was very mysterious about how they select people for this position. During the interview they asked a series of behavioral questions, some basic engineering questions and general conversation. It is very important to answer the engineering questions as fully as possible, brownie points are given if you find something wrong with the question, or give a clever response, perhaps something that will set your answer apart from the other interviewers and still be a correct answer.
The interviewer filled out a piece of paper, almost like a grading sheet during the interview.
My general feeling was that they were looking for something specific, and weather you had that X-factor or not was completely dependent on how you behaved during the interview.
very few questions were asked about my resume, but he used some of my work experience to ask me general questions and start the conversation.
Overall, the interviewer was very friendly and positive.
looking back, i probably did not get a job offer because i hesitated on one of the engineering questions and didn't have a stellar GPA. While this is my opinion, it is commonly known that they say that GPA is not a huge consideration, and their selection process is very much a mystery.
