Interviewed Oct 2011 in San Francisco, CA (took 1 week)
Started with an introduction with the HR generalist and the Engineering Manager. First question was, tell us what do you know about W.L Gore ? Mentioned the values of gore available on wikipedia and stated that I value those things and therefore intrested to work at gore. Next the manager asks, walk me through your resume. He picked up a graduation project and asked me to explain it in detail. Design of Experiment was some thing he was intrested in. I think answered the question to his satisfaction. Next they started random questioning focusing on people and tech skills. Team work or Individual work ? New product introduction or do you enjoy sustaining work ? What are your strengths ? What are the things you want to improve on in your next Job ? This all happened in 20 minutes.
Next, They gave me a chance to ask questions.
1) Its a new position and you are not replacing any one.
2) Its and endovascular product in predevelopemental stage.
3) Team comprises of 7 to 8 tech engineers, extended team consists of 10 engineers, We are Refining design and can use help with feasibility testing, setting up the instrom, sampling plans for IQA and testing.
4) We are in early phase and have not hit a major road block, but I am sure there are going to be discoveries in the process.
5) Flexibility and the help you get from the people is the best about W.L.Gore.
Nirlep : on a closing note, I thank you both for your time. is there any thing that I can offer which I may have missed. The HR Gen mentions that we will get back to your recruiter by wednesday and will go from there.
Conclusion :
1. Its a team based organization, Culture fit is the key to get on board.
2. Very fast paced interview, did not got enough chance to tell every thing I knew about Gore and Gore products.Just for the records here are the things I researched about gore.
Over all a neutral experience. Can say what will happen Next.

Interviewed Feb 2010 in Flagstaff, AZ (took 3 weeks)
I was initially contacted by a recruiter for the company, and had a phone interview. Went out for an in person interview about three weeks later. The interview lasted about an hour, and consisted of the recruiter and 3 other people. Everyone was very friendly, and the interview never felt awkward like some can. They asked a lot of behavioral and technical questions. I was drawing diagrams and graphs to explain things. They would also show me medical devices and asked how I would make them and test them. It was a challenging interview, but the questions were good and the interviewers were experienced which was nice.

Interviewed Jan 2010 in Flagstaff, AZ (took 2+ weeks)
Started with a phone call from the technical lead and a hiring manager. They asked me some questions about my background and research/work experience. They outlined the nature of the job and asked me some standard behavioral questions, how I felt about relocation etc.
About 2 weeks later, I was confirmed for an in-house interview. Two rounds, each about 45 minutes. The first was HR, just questions about the company, my interests etc. Second round was technical, with a panel of 8 people, questions weren't too hard. Interviewers and staff were very friendly throughout the entire process.
