Review it. Ensure it is correct with no ambiguities. Rehearse the conversation. Understand the possible outcomes and what your plan is after the issue has been presented to the employee.Before you have the conversation review it with an HR rep within your company to ensure compliance to policies, etc.Finally, above everything else, never allow the conversation to stray into the blame game.
