Interviewed Oct 2011 (took 4 days)
First you apply on-line, then months later you get a call and they conduct a phone interview. If all goes well you then are asked to come in where about 8 people are going for the same job. They make you watch some videos on the company. Then they do this speed questioning session where they bring in one manager per person. They ask random questions like why you want this job and questions on how you would handle different situations dealing with customers and other employees. You do some sales presentations and role playing. Then if you are lucky they call within a day and ask for you to come in and this is where they talk about how much they are going to pay you. After this process you have 2 days of orientation with a big group of people. You play games and do a section of things where you need to find where the keep things, introduces yourself to other employees, and these employees have no clue as why you are doing this. Then they tell you to go find your Boss and get some hours for training. (They don't even introduce you to the one who is in charge of you. Then with being a cashier you actually have two people who don't seem to be on the same wavelenght that can give you hours. (Poor Communication) Later when you come in for training if your lucky you get someone who cares and knows there job well. My first session I had a really great cashier, but after that I had a cashier who just left me and didn't even stay on cash with me. Even though I have a lot of years experience as a cashier, there is other stuff that comes up around the store that was unfamiliar to me.

Interviewed Sep 2009 in Brampton, ON (Canada) (took a day)
I walked into the store and saw a manager. I told the manager I was looking for a job and that I was interested in working for Wal-Mart. He took down my number and called me an hour later for an interview. After the first, there were two more with two other managers. Few days later I got a call asking if I was still interested in working for Walmart and I accepted.

Interviewed Nov 2009 (took 2 days)
I asked the customer service if they were hiring and she said yes she thinks so she she telephoned a person and told me to go to the very end of the store where the employees' washrooms are. There was a desk and a lady was waiting for me she gave me a paper to fill out and then asked me why I want to work for walmart and what time I was available and if I can work early/late/weekends.
Then she went in to try to get me an interview and I got in and I was asked about my previouse work situations and had to give examples of how I dealt with customer services or problems etc. At the end she told me to come the following day for a second interview.
The second day I went and the manager interviewed me. He had similaur questions and was very nice and seemed like he liked my answers. He made me fill a criminal record consent form and told me that I will be hearing from them very soon.
It has been a week now since the second interview and I still have not received any calls from them. I have already cancelled another job that was offered to me because I thought I was accepted in this job. Many people said the fact I got a second interview ment 90% I got the job.
I still have hope in them calling me. My husband thinks they are probably going to call me around christmas time when they need part timers but then when am I supposed to be trained?
Today I went to the same walmart store and I asked a random person working there and told her about my situation and she told me to call account personel and ask what happened. But I'm not sure if i should do that?
