Interviewed Apr 2012 (took 1 week)
I was called a week after filling out an application, I was told to come in and do part 2 of the interview process which consisted of a computer skills test ( easy assessment questions, questions on giving change to customers). After part 2 i was called to set up an interview. The interview lasted about 15 mins, the manager asked questions regarding customers and co workers and how i would deal with them. After that she asked about my availability.

Interviewed May 2012 in Edmond, OK (took a day)
I applied online on Monday and was called on Tuesday to set up an interview on Wednesday. The hiring manager was very nice and professional; we went back to the offices where he asked me a few questions and conducted a short skills/personality assessment. I was offered a job on the spot and was given some consent forms and other things to sign and bring back after my drug test.

Interviewed Mar 2012 (took a day)
I finished my Walgreens application in early march. At the end of March I assumed I wasn't going to get hired, but I did finally get a call back asking me if I was still looking for a job. They called me in for an interview pretty much the next day in the afternoon. Took no more than an hour basically about my experiences with customer service and dealing with certain situations. They ask stuff like "Describe an experience you went out of your way for someone. Doesn't have to be work related." Another one "Describe a time where you couldn't understand anything at all what the other person was saying." It seemed to be they didn't really care about your actual job experience, but it was more about your actual personality. Come up with some clever answers to their questions. You could use school and real life experiences to explain what you can offer the company, positive attitude, and smiling a lot is what they are looking for. Interview was Friday and over the weekend and on Monday I've received a call back offering a position as service clerk. So, if you don't get a call back the next day, there's a very very low chance they are going to hire you, but its after the 3rd day I would consider yourself actually passed over. When they want to hire someone they usually want them working asap.
Bit of a warning, training is almost nonexistent at Walgreens. You get a 10 min rundown on register and basically left on your own. Be prepared to start checking out actual customers on your first day of work. It can be stressful if you've never done it before like me. Just be polite and apologize to customers and most will be patient with you. Working at Walgreens all depends where you work at. Busy Walgreens are a whole another ballpark compared to a slow walgreens. So your mileage may vary from store to store. Good luck!

Interviewed Sep 2011 in Houston, TX (took 1 week)
I was contacted by an Assistant Store Manager to come in for an interview. The interview was pleasant enough. However, it was apparent that the interviewer had not looked over my application and resume because she wanted to offer me a position starting at $7.50 an hour with over 10 experience in retail as an Assistant Store Manager.
During the questioning she realized my retail experience and said she would not feel comfortable with me taking the position because I was overqualified for the part-time position she was trying to hire for. I told her I felt the same way and would not be taking the position. She then asked why I had not applied for a management position and I told her I had. She asked if I would mind if she passed an application on to a hiring manager for a possible Assistant Manager position. I told her that would be great and THANKS!

Interviewed Sep 2011 in Chicago, IL (took 2 days)
I Filled out the online application on the 8th, a walgreens manager called the next day for me to come in and take the skills test. I would assume I did well on the skills test, because I was interviewed one on one right after wards, the interview was pretty laidback I was nervous but not terrified the manager was not at all intimidating, he was very nice as a matter of fact. The questions were very generic, what would your past employer say about you? etc etc. I felt that the interview went well but I was not asked to go to the next step which is drug testing right then and there like I expected, instead I was told that there were other applicants and to be fair the manager had to interview them as well and that he would not be making the final decision on his own that his manager would also be reviewing applicants so it is in fact still in the air I may still get an offer it will be a week on saturday.Hopefully I will hear something from them.

Interviewed Aug 2011 (took 2 days)
First you apply online, taking a personality test and answering some basic questions. Then you go into the actual store, and you do a skills test which grills you on some basic cashier math, and how you would respond to certain in store situations. Then, depending on how badly they need people, an assistant manager or the store manager might interview you one on one. For me, the interview consisted of nothing but "can you work nights and weekends?" and "Why retail?" Then you take a drug test and you start soon after. Teh whole process took like 3 days.
