Interviewed Dec 2011 in Blair, NE (took 1 week)

I applied online and they called me a couple days later to set up an interview. The interview was fairly easygoing and they asked average interview questions. I had to take an assessment online before the interview then another one once I got because they wanted me to try for a supervisory position. I passed it and they asked about my availability and told me they would call me in about a week or two. They called me a week and a half later and made a meeting for a job offer.

I applied online, a week later i call the hr manager and she scheduled an interview the same week. I had an interview with a supervisor then with a manager. It was average. They asked questions like tell me about a time you went above and beyond for a customer? Tell me about a sittuation where you dealt with an angry customer. How did u handle it?

Interviewed Jun 2009 (took a day)

I was interviewed by three different managers. They were all mostly nice and asked simple "name a time..." type questions. Overall, the interview was simple and they were understanding that it was my first ever interview (I was in high school at the time).

Interviewed Sep 2011 (took a day)

I was called by the HR department on Monday and went in for an interview the following Tuesday. An HR associate got some general information, then I was interviewed by a store associate. She asked me some pretty easy questions. Then, about 15 minutes later came a second interview. This interview was with an assistant manager. She asked me questions about my previous decision making abilities, nothing too difficult (ie: name a time when you had to settle a disagreement between you and a coworker). Next, the HR associate made me a job offer. It all took about an hour, then I had to go get drug tested. I started the following Saturday.

Interviewed Oct 2009 in Columbus, OH (took a day)

I was hired in 2009 having to go to take a drug test which is in their store policy. And waited for phone call to be offered the position. Had to redo my availability in order to be hired in by Walmart.

Interviewed Aug 2011 in Batavia, IL (took 2 days)

I applied online on a Wednesday for cashier position (I have very limited retail experience from 10 years ago but they still called). I went in Friday & had a very awkward SAR (Situation - Action - Result) type interview with 2 managers taking turns shooting typical "Tell me about a time you........what was the result...........". They were very nice despite me being called the wrong name twice by one of the managers, who had to be about 15 years younger than me which was weird, it was fairly painless. Some of the questions were so drawn out I honestly lost track of what I was saying mid sentence but rebounded. The odd part was when it was done they went off to "discuss" the interview which meant stepping about 15 feet away with their backs to me but they did come back with a slip to go do a drug test & a job offer. I figure Wal-Mart was my best bet while I'm in college the next year as far as flexibility.

people who attended to me were very nice, but the interviews are in English and if you do not know to express themselves, do not give you a second interview. because maybe you understand the question, but might not know how to express it.

Many, many behavioral questions clearly aimed at how well you would deal with the customer based on your past experience; of which I had none.
