I went to their office the following day and had a one-on-one interview. the interviewee was accommodating and friendly, it just took few minutes to finish including the document signing.

Interviewed Jul 2008 (took a day)
First I was hired by an associate. She read like 5 pages of questions or so. I don't remember because it was a year ago. They were all situational. After she interviewed me, a member of management came and interviewed me one on one and got offered the job on the spot.

Interviewed Jul 2009 (took 2 days)
I applied on friday, and got a call back the following Tuesday. He told me to come in Thursday, and when i first met him, he showed me around the front and so on, then took me back and i was inteviewed by 3 people, he told me that if he was interested, he'd call me the day after. So 3 hours after the interview, he caled me back and told me he wanted to make the call a day early, then told me to come meet with the co-manager the next day. So i had another interview friday morning at 8:30, and he told me he still had to do a reference check and a verification from my former job for 20 extra cents an hour. He told me to wait for a while till he could get ahold of my former employer, he couldn't. so he told me just to go , and when he got ahold of them he'd call me back in for a job offer and drug test... the weekend he never called so i called him today, and he told me he got the verification from my former employer, but he still had to do refernces. So at about 2:00, they called both of my references, and now i'm just waiting for a call back. I really hope i get the job, i really need it. I'm excited.

Interviewed Jun 2009 (took 2 days)
Was asked to come into a room after waiting for someone to get me, took about 15 mins for that. I was asked to sign some papers and verify my info, then another person asked me questions about myself and situations that involve the store that I had to answer from my own life experiences. then this guy asked me almost the same questions and I just used the same answers as before. I had to come back another day for more of the same thing. was a really long process for just a little part-time job for a high schooler.

Interviewed Jun 2009 in Birmingham, AL (took a day)
After applying for the position online a month earlier, Wal-Mart called for me to attend the first interview. I found myself waiting for someone to take me to the back along with another interviewee. There was a contrast in me and the other woman there interviewing. I'd dressed up and put myself together, and she'd wore jeans and a wrinkled tee. When they called me back, I sat in front of a panel of three people. One was a hiring manger, one a corporate worker, and another seemingly just a department manager. No one greeted me back as I sat down.
One started asking questions immediately. All of them were broad experience questions, Such as a time when I helped someone, a time I followed directions but didn't want to...those types. I had to ask the interviewer to repeat the questions multiple times because she was speaking quickly, unclear, and incorrectly pronouncing words. Half-way through another manager interrupted my answering of a question to check and see if I was even being asked the correct questions for my position. No one knew, but they continued.
After answering all the questions, they told me I wasn't done and to wait outside. They interviewed the second woman. After she came out, thirty minutes later and I was still waiting, she talked to me of her experience. She said she couldn't think of any answers to the questions and laughed. An associate told me they'd call me later if they wanted me. And off I went, never a call back. The other woman however, is now a proud associate at Wal-Mart. It's funny how things work.

Interviewed Jun 2009 in Olathe, KS (took 2 days)
Although I waited 20 minutes (where I was advised someone would be there to get me at my appointed time) before someone asked if they could help me, and the woman from personnel assisted me, the interview process went well. The first person asked all the basic scripted questions, then asked a manager to come back for an immediate second interview. The manager asked fewer of the scripted questions, went over the pay rate and what the position would be. She then gave the form for the drug test and advised they had to wait for the drug test and background check to come back. I was offered the position 2 business days later.
Interview Questions
Reason for Declining
I declined the offer because I accepted another position at a higher paying wage at full-time hours. Additionally, the wage was too low and the position wasn't the one I applied for.

I Applied Online and the interview consisted of a Background Check, a Drug Test and a 1:1 Interview.
