Wal Mart Cashier Interview

Wal Mart Cashier
Hinesville, GA

I applied online and the process took a day - interviewed at Walmart in April 2010.

Interview Details – We had a group interview. They asked up to answer questions and explain our answers. It seemed to be a test of how we deal with a stressful situation. It can be hard to answer pointed questions in front of other people who may have already came up with the same answer.

Interview Question – how to deal with a rowdy customer   Answer Question

Interview Question – There really was not a difficult or unexpected question. All questions were similar to those on the application or some variation of them.   Answer Question

Negotiation Details – There was no negotiation. You accepted their terms, or you did not get the job.

Customer Service Supervisor Interview

Customer Service Supervisor
Holly Spring, GA

I applied through other source and the process took 1 week - interviewed at Walmart in April 2014.

Interview Details – I worked for a Walmart Neighborhood Market as a cashier and was interested in moving up by transferring to a new Supercenter being built. I called Home Office about the new store, and they had the store contact me for an interview. I was paid for my mileage to come to the site (since I am already an associate). I was greeted and signed in. Then I waited in a room to be called. Two people interviewed me together. The questions were lengthy questions that asked about how I have responded to certain situations in my past work experience.

Interview Question – Tell me about a time when you disagreed with a policy? What did you disagree with, what did you do, and what was the result?   Answer Question

ICS Supervisor Interview

I applied in-person and the process took 3 days - interviewed at Walmart.

Interview Details – I honestly only met the core managers, and the general store managers. Although I personally witnessed more managers as I got more acclimated. I then realized that there was a hierarchy and some type of internal social club.

Interview Question – How do you handle managing multiple people of different ages, and ethnicity ?   View Answer

Unloaded/Processor Interview

Unloaded/Processor
Statesboro, GA

I applied online and the process took 2 weeks - interviewed at Walmart in December 2013.

Interview Details – I had this very old man who actually nodded off during the interview! He told me they usually use temp services instead of hiring "for the company". When they do, they usually work you for 3-4 months. They then lay you off, so that they don't have to offer you benefits! The place was a joke. I later spoke to someone who use to work there in HR. He said it is an awful place to work. They care less about the employees. They have big turnover. I was there TWICE, 3 months each time

Walmart Cashier Interview

Walmart Cashier
Dalton, GA

I applied online and the process took 4+ weeks - interviewed at Walmart in February 2011.

Interview Details – The interview process was a three step system. You had a group interview, a one on one, then the job offer. They asked a lot of "name a time when" questions that tend to be a bit difficult to come up with on the spot. Especially when you have had no prior work experience to fall back on.

Interview Question – Name a time when there was a conflict between coworkers that you solved. Please indicate the process used to solve the problem.   View Answer

Negotiation Details – They said "here's the position and the pay rate, sign here if you wan to accept it."

Bakery Associate Interview

Bakery Associate
Marietta, GA

I applied online and the process took 12 months - interviewed at Walmart in January 2011.

Interview Details – I got a call a year after submitting an application....kind of crazy, but they called at just the right time.
The day after the phone call I had an interview. There were three different department managers, each with about two questions for me. It was very easy, no complicated questions, and took less than 10 minutes. At the end of the interview I was asked which position I thought would suit me and they informed me of their pay level system. The next day I got a phone call to return for a second interview. This time it was one person, the assistant store manager...she asked me a few very simple questions, was very polite, and said that most likely I would have the job. The next day I was hired and the following week I came in for orientation/first day of the job.

Interview Question – None   Answer Question

Negotiation Details – There really was none-- I chose the job I wanted from a list of available positions, and the hourly rate is based on a level system they have.
