the interview process is behavioral/ competency based. they ask you a series of questions about specific situations that require you to reflect back on previous experiences in order to gauge how you would act in the position. they give you a list of the competencies that they will be asking about in order for you to better prepare for your interview. there were three interviewers taking turns asking the questions.

First was a HR Interview, which asked basic questions about my background and my past work.
Second round was a panel of 3, asking analytical questions based on my passed work experience.
Know your resume inside out. They will ask you around 20 behavioral questions. Thus study and have examples of all behavioral questions.
They also wanted proficiency in SAP for this role. However in the end the role was cancelled.

I applied online for Walmart in April of 2009 and eventually got a call back in July 2009. They asked me to come in for an interview the following day. The interview process wasn't too hard. No extremely difficult questions. Just the general questions regarding interaction with others. The hiring manager seemed stern, so I wasn't too sure if she liked me, but at the conclusion of the interview, she told me I got the job. I was ecstatic. She then told me I had to take and pass a drug test within 24 hours of the job offer, or I would have to reapply and undergo another interview. They also said they had to run a background check. I went, passed, and Walmart called me back within a week for orientation.

I was able to negotiate the hourly wage I was paid. I didn't mind starting at 8.40 an hour, but others may have a problem with it. I was just happy to get the job. You also get raises every year with a good review.

Basically, two people will interview you, both will ask the same questions (for multiple perspectives, I suppose). Allegedly, the second interviewer is the one who offers you the job, then you will be asked to do a drug test, and they will contact your two references.
Questions are simple, and all of them begin with "Describe a situation in which..."
Each interview took 15-30 minutes for me, which was surprisingly quite short. First interviewer was an HR person, the second interviewer was the Assistant Manager.

The online application was very vague, mostly employment interests and past job titles/salaries. No providing of skills/experience. I was surprised by a return phone call. The interview was 3 one-on-one meetings, with successively more important personnel. Questions were entirely canned "tell me about a situation where you..."
