Very Easy Interview
I applied online and the process took 4 days - interviewed at Walmart in May 2013.
Interview Details – They were extremely friendly and accommodating. I told them I was in the process of moving and would only be in town through tomorrow for the next couple weeks, and they got me in for both interviews they have to do back-to-back the next day before I left as well as the urine test. The questions are all generalized and seemed to be designed to give you the opportunity to put an upbeat spin on things. My first interviewer was -extremely- nice, he was my Zone Supervisor, and I ended up becoming friends with him before leaving the company.
Interview Question – They throw you off by giving you a sheet of "updated availability" you have to fill in. This is to see if you were being honest when you applied. If you put ANYTHING but full availability every day for Walmart, you will likely NOT get the job. Also, be ready to take a urine test. Answer Question
Negotiation Details – There was none. They started me off at "pay grade 4" which is $9.20/hr because of the department I was to work in as well as my prior pay grades and education.
I applied in-person and the process took 1 week - interviewed at Walmart in April 2013.
Interview Details – no official interview for sporting goods but there was when hiring me in, it consisted of an assistant manager first then a support manager and of course the zone manger all fthat normally cover the area i would be hired into. then i was given an option to review the position and starting pay which is based mostly on experience. my starting pay was 8.40 an hour because i was a cashier for 2 years at my other job and made 8.80 an hour there. after that i was then asked to go take a drug test.the whole process took about a week start to finish.
Interview Question –
