    Walmart Store Manager Interview

    Application Details

I applied through college or university – interviewed at Walmart in March 2013.

    Interview Details

I had one interview. I expected the interview to be difficult. Instead, the manager of the store was kind and complimented my resume several times. He was impressed when I jumped on the opportunity to tour the store the next day. For those interested in a career with Walmart, the tour will give you a bird's eye view of the store, associates and their relationship with management and a more personal way for management to become acquainted with you.

    Interview Questions
    • I didn't have any difficult questions. The questions were behavioral interview questions: "tell me a time when..." The one interesting question posed to me was how comfortable would I be working with people less educated or from a different socio-economic status.   View Answer

The offer came from HR. I countered by giving her a different resumé which increased my salary and gave me an extra week of vacation.

    Application Details

I applied online. The process took 5 daysinterviewed at Walmart in May 2012.

    Interview Details

The interview was simple and laid back. They asked standard interview questions relating to co-worker troubles, when did I go above the requirements of work, how have I responded to difficult customers, etc. The questions were not difficult and most people with some work experience can answer them relatively easily.

    Interview Questions
    • Question about how I handled a disgruntled employee or bad co-worker. I wasn't prepared for these questions and didn't have a good response handy. Got hired anyway.   Answer Question
