Interviewed Oct 2010 in Brisbane, CA (took 4+ weeks)
Got the interview through an internal referral by alumnus of grad school. Interview consisted of two phone interviews. Once I had those, the HR called to inform that I was invited for in-person interviews. Flew to Brisbane where they had me meet with 8-9 people, half an hour each. Interviewers ranged from Directors, product managers, engineers etc. Questions were mostly behavioral, drilled into details about work experience from resume etc.

Interviewed Aug 2011 (took 2 months)
The hiring process was very long and consisted of multiple phone interviews. Called in for an in person interview. After the in-person interview no response. Not even professional courtesy. No decision. The online status shows in consideration even after 10 weeks.

Interviewed Oct 2010 in San Francisco, CA (took 1 week)
First there was a phone interview with a VP then I went for an in person interview with 5 different people. The interviewers had various roles from technical to project manager and were each 30 minutes. I was in a conference room and people came in one after the other. The questions ranged from those quirky google type questions to serious questions about how I manage projects and the experience I had.

Interviewed Mar 2011 in San Mateo, CA (took a day)
I was contacted by HR very quickly after I applied this job online. HR, peer (in the hiring dept) phone interview, on site panel interview.
The HR and peer interview on the phone went well. They seem polite and normal personnel. On site panel, I supposed to meet 3 developers and the manager. They changed the date and people list. Anyway, on site, the name on the interview list changed again. Guess they were busy.
I don't want to sound ridiculous. But this company, at least this builder, makes me surprise. I wonder the idea of diversity... They ask basic questions, but tried to trap you to show that they are smarter than you.
Do you ever care if you put try catch finally with other sequence try finally or catch? Well, after the guy explained, they would be same, no compilation error. I started to recall someone or I have tried this before.
What is the deal here? Would this show me not intelligent if I wasn't sure?
Finally manager came in, woops ..If previous developers demonstrated that 'smart' pattern/culture trend in this hiring group, at least they were polite. The manager was very direct and rude... Horrible.
This dept, at least is combined with certain integrity. I know they don't like me. They expected people from their 'own' world, if you can get me.
Anyway, don't waste time there.

Interviewed May 2010 (took 5 days)
I only went through 2 phone interviews - ending with the hiring manager. HR was not well prepared and decided that we had already conducted an interview, despite never contacting me. The organization is very hierarchical and has a reputation for burning its workers out. It is a great brand and looks great on a resume. Pay is below the rest of the Valley.

Interviewed May 2010 (took a day)
I was confronted by one of the managers and asked if I was interested in an APA position. I said I was. He described the position and asked if I had any questions. He told me I had to interview and that there were 2 other candidates. Later, he took me to his office and conducted the interview. The questions were the standard work place related scenarios. A few days later, he told me he chose somebody else.

Interviewed May 2010 in San Bruno, CA (took 1 week)
A recruiter got in touch from Walmart.com's headquarter asking if I was available for a phone interview. The interview was scheduled twice, twice the recruiter missed the appointment and made up some silly excuses for not letting me know he wasn't going to make it...
Very disappointing, I'm glad nothing came out of it. I'm wondering if that's the common experience when interviewing with this company.
