I applied online and the process took 3 weeks - interviewed at Wegmans in November 2013.
Interview Details – I received an email asking me to call the Fredericksburg location if I was still interested in a job. I called twice and left a message before I received another email asking me to call before a certain time a few days later to schedule an interview. Once again I called and left a message before I was called back to schedule my phone interview. That is scheduled to happen tomorrow.
Interview Question – I'll get back to you on that tomorrow Answer Question
Very Difficult Interview
I applied through an employee referral and the process took 6 weeks - interviewed at Wegmans in October 2013.
Interview Details – This took a long time. After I sent in my application, it took me 5 weeks for me to hear back, and when they called me, it sped up a lot. They scheduled my phone interview the next day, invited me back for an in-person interview 6 days later for the next day again. The lady that hired me was really nice and friendly, and she di her job well.
Interview Question – Name a time that you didn't get along with another employee and nobody was around to help you solve the problem, and what did you do? Answer Question
I applied online and the process took 1+ week - interviewed at Wegmans.
Interview Details – I applied online for a current position as front end cashier as well as a future opportunities position as a front end cashier. I got an email the next morning asking if I wanted to set up a phone interview. The phone interview was the next day. She then passed my information along to the interviewer from the store that I applied to. She emailed me later the same day that my phone interview was to schedule an in person interview. That was scheduled for two days later, and I am currently waiting for that to take place.
Interview Question – What is your greatest weakness? Answer Question
I applied online and the process took 1 week - interviewed at Wegmans.
Interview Details – After appIying I received a phone call which was very friendly and helpful, asking me if I would like to schedule a phone interview. When they ended up calling me The interview that followed was confusing and ridiculous. I honestly felt as though the interviewer was actively trying to trap me into difficult and complicated questions. The interview is also typed up by the interviewer, so they want your answers to be very basic and yes or no type answers even if the question would seem to require something complex. For simply a cashier position it was a bit ridiculous. The interviewer was also very rude and impolite she often would speak condescendingly.
Interview Question – I made it clear that I would have a free schedule the entire summer, and open availability, I kept getting asked if I was looking for seasonal work, part time or full time. I replied that I would take any position offered me, and was very rudely told I HAD to pick one. I'm not saying that this will be everyone's experience, and I have heard very good things about this company, but this particular interviewer was rude and unhelpful. Answer Question
I applied online and the process took 2 months - interviewed at Wegmans in August 2013.
Interview Details – I applied online in June got called back last week. The Hiring Manager asked me a few questions over the phone then told me they were having a hiring day coming up and wanted to know if i was able to come. I told her I could and was given a time to come. I wore a Black and white peplum top and black dress pants. I interviewed with the Hiring Manager i spoke with on the phone and she was extremely nice. After she asked me about 40+ questions she asked me if i had time for a second interview. i told her yes. so i waited around to interview with the store manager which was about 10 minutes. thats where things started going downhill. For some reason i was extremely nervous and kept having him repeat the questions. his were much harder then the other ones.

I applied online and the process took 1+ week - interviewed at Wegmans in February 2013.
Interview Details –
First there is a 10 minute phone interview that goes over your basic info and a few behavioral questions.
Second, there is an interview with an HR person that lasts about 45 minutes. This interview is grueling. They ask about 20 or 25 behavioral interview questions, really asking the same thing over and over, but expecting you to come up with different detailed examples for each one. This interview was ridiculous to become a freaking cashier. I had an interview with a law firm for an internship position, and that interview was actually significantly easier than this one.
Third there is an interview with the department manager or supervisor you will be working for. Pretty easy. They seem to think that the question sheet they get from HR is kinda ridiculous and pointless and they really don't seem to care what your answers are.
Interview Question – Just be prepared for dozens of behavioral questions DETAILING how you worked with a team, resolved problems, dealt with disgruntled people, managed time, etc etc, Answer Question
Reason for Declining – I got an offer, but the interview process rubbed me the wrong way. If they have that ridiculous of an interview process to become a cashier, the company is too uptight and I don't want to work for them. Stay far, far away from this company if you have a laid back personality. Type As only need apply.
Pros: Very understanding of the personal needs of an employee, they really promote individuality. – Full Review
