They use different processes at different times. Usually involved a phone interview, then a panel interview, then a one on one intereview if you are coming from outside the company. Internal promotions are handled differently at different times, and can involve any of the types of interviews listed above

Interviewed Sep 2011 in Denver, CO (took a day)
The goal is to play up coaching skills.
They will ask questions like tell me a time when you needed more research to make.a decision? When you had to deal with an employee that would not perform how did you get them to perform?
What will you bring to the team? What is the difference between leading and managing?

Interviewed Nov 2011 in Denver, CO (took 1 week)
The phone interview took about 15 minutes and started out with information on the company and position. The interview was behavioral questions based (e.g. “Tell me about a specific time you had to deal with a difficult customer and how did you handle it?”). The behavioral interview questions were standard. If you’ve done these behavior interviews before and have already memorized at least 8 behavioral responses, you should breeze through the phone interview.

Interviewed Apr 2011 in Broomfield, CO (took 4 weeks)
First step, easy online assessment. Second step, group interview. My group interview had one interviewer and five interviewees. Third step, one on one interview at branch location. During the group interview, the interviewer poses a behavioral question and each person responds. Whoever raises their hand first is the first up. I would recommend going second or third, but not last. They really like behavioral questions such as "tell me about a time you exemplified great customer service" or "tell me about a time you dealt with a difficult customer." Even though it may not seem like it on the surface, a teller position is a sales position.

Interviewed Jun 2011 in Denver, CO (took 1 week)
After I submitted an app. online, I was sent an email requesting that I complete an online personality test of sorts, and also that I call the hiring center for a phone interview. After that, I was contacted the next day to arrange a group interview time; that interview was the following morning. The afternoon of the group interview, I was called to arrange a one-on-one interview for two days later, and the afternoon of THAT interview, I was called to offer the job. Whole process took about a week.

Negotiation Details
I did not attempt to negotiate anything, as I was applying for the only part-time spot at that particular branch, and therefore did not want to hurt my chances at all.

Interviewed Jan 2011 in Denver, CO (took 2 days)
First you have to apply online, if you pass the test they will give you a 1-800 number to call, then you will be asked some questions about sales and customer service experience, if you pass that they will send you to a group interview. I am at that point right now...

Interviewed Nov 2010 in Denver, CO (took 3 weeks)
Applied through their website. First went through a series of basic personality questions; pretty straightforward. Then was instructed to call a recruiter for a phone interview. Again, very simple stuff. They asked about previous experience and perceived ability to handle job responsibilities. Scheduled a group interview for a week later. The group interview lasted about two hours. It consisted of two recruiters and about ten interviewees. They had us pair up and interview our partner, then present them to the group and explain why they would make a good Wells Fargo employee. They then asked the group basic interview questions, having each person answer individually in front of the group. These mostly dealt with describing specific events and experiences you've had in your professional past. Basic stuff like describing a time you've provided excellent customer service and times you've met sales goals. They are very focused on sales and personality. The best answers were those that were very specific and directly related to your ability to sell products. About a week later I was contacted for a final interview. This was a 1:1 with a branch manager. Incredibly nice guy, asked the typical interview questions, stuff like why did you choose WF, what is your perception of the job, as well as the same questions pertaining to specific events where you had sales goals and exceeded expectations. Just be friendly, honest, and focus on sales, sales and sales. Don't be vague, talk about specific situations and focus on positive results.
A day later, they called and offered me the job pending a background check and fingerprint. That was over a week ago, but it's over the holidays so they said it might take longer than normal. I did hear that they use an FBI national background check which is more involved than most. People with dismissed misdemeanor cases from years ago were saying they were denied employment. I was falsely arrested almost exactly ten years ago (in a week) and charged with petty theft. The case was dropped since it was complete BS, but reading about others who've been denied employment has me worried, as does the length of time it's taken to hear back. So fair warning, if you have anything at all on your record, even if it's been dropped or expunged, they may still deny you employment, even after they've offered the job. That's the one part of this process I take issue with. After all this time focused on this company, not applying other places since they gave me an offer, I could still be denied and be back at square one. That doesn't seem fair to me. Ah well c'est la vie. Good luck to you all.

No negotiation attempt. I was just thankful to get an offer ($10.50). Maybe could've tried but it didn't seem prudent.

Interviewed Mar 2008 in Arvada, CO (took a day)
I saw a job posting for a banker online. I contacted Wells Fargo for an interview and they told me the time and place to be for the group interview. The interview was conducted in a very professional manner, but I was surprised that 6 others were also present for the interview, instead of 1 on 1. I thought the questions were fair. One complaint I had was there was no follow-up from Wells Fargo stating whether I was hired or not.
