Personal Banker I at Wells Fargo

Easy Interview
Overall Positive Experience Received and Accepted Offer

Interviewed Oct 2009 in Crystal, MN (took 1 week)

First you have to tak a phone interview. They basically just screen you to make sure they are not completely wasting your time by sending you to the recruiter. Then you go to the group interview. Mine had 9 candidates. It was not intimidating at all and the recruiter was extremely nice and approachable. They gave everyone the same 3 questions and we had to go around the room answering them. They were multiple-part questions so it gave you a few minutes of talking time for each one. This is basically your only time to shine in a group of 10 people so make sure you say something that sticks out. I am 23 and everyone else in the group was in their 40's at least. They all had about 25 years or more of work experience. I could have decided to be intimidated but I didn't. Half of them said they wanted to work at Wells Fargo so they could have holiday's and nights off. I said that I wanted to work all the time and save money so I wouldn't have to work when I was 50. I laughed inside a little when I said that.
Anyway, then they tell you that you will hear back in 5 days. I heard back in 2 days that they did NOT want me for the personal banker position but that they would like to offer me a teller position.
