Interviewed Aug 2011 (took 2 weeks)
I received a call from a recruiter who then asked me several questions relating to Customer Service scenarios and how I would deal with them. She then told me that I passed the first phase of the interview process and told me I should be hearing from a branch manager within 2 days. If I did not, I should call her back. Well, 2 days went by and didn't hear from a branch manager. I called the recruiter back and she then gave me a number of a branch manager to interview with. I had to leave several messages as the branch manager did not call me back. Two days later I tried calling again and this time was connected to him. He told me he was not hiring and that he would pass my information on to another branch manager. I also had a difficult time contacting the next branch manager. This, also, took a few days. I was finally able to meet with him and another employee. They liked my answers and forwarded my resume on to the District Manager. I had an interview set with him. I arrived early and waited a half hour when one of the tellers informed me that he had an emergency and would not be able to make the interview. Another interview was set up and I thought the interview went well.
I did not hear anything for a week and decided to contact the Branch Manager. Once again, I left several messages for him. He did not return my calls so I decided to email him and let him know that I was still interested in the position. He finally called back and told me that the District Manager does not like to hire Personal Bankers from the outside. He prefers to offer the position to inside staff. I would need to start off as a teller. I told him that would be wonderful. He told me he would get back to me and I never heard a word from him again.
I thought the whole process was confusing and a waste of my time.

The people there were very friendly. The manager wasn't completely forward with exactly what to expect when hired. It was a great way to meet people in the community.

Interviewed Dec 2011 in San Jose, CA (took a day)
The recruiter was very nice. I don't understand how a bank (even with high turn arounds) holds group interviews.

Interviewed Nov 2011 in Riverside, CA (took 4 weeks)
Applied Online, had to answer like 2 Pages of Questions then i received an Email to call 1-800 Number to conduct the telephone interview "screening", passed it and then had a phone call few days later to set up a group interview.
At the Group Interview here is what happened: I had to arrive at least 15 minutes early, stepped in and there were anther 9 Candidates so we were 10 at something like conference room we were supposed to be 15 candidates but 5 did not show up.. filled up 2 pages of easy app with basic information and to mark the area where you would like to work "in case you offered the job"
The recruiter was really nice to break the ice and to let us know how its gonna work. then he played10 minutes Video about wells fargo employees, then she came back to start the interview process.
she asked us who ever is ready to start with four things; your name, current or previous employer, why you choose wells fargo, and how does wells fargo position will be related to or affecting your future? "Easy intro" :)
after we all done that she asked us for another 3 questions but this time she will pick the candidate to answer these questions " i was the 1st one to be asked .. lol"
1) Tell me about professional accomplishment you are proud of?
2) Give me an example of Sales Goal you have had in the past and you reach this goal?
3) Give me an example of Customer Service situation where you went above and beyond?
we all done this and that was the interview process. She said by next week those candidates who passed will receive a call from her for the next step which is meeting with Area district manager and those who didn't pass will receive an email. i am in the waiting game now :)
by the way the official annual salary for PB at wells fargo is 37,500 a year and its NOT NEGOTIABLE.
GOOD LUCK EVERYONE.
