Interviewed Mar 2011 in Spartanburg, SC (took a day)
The manager was very professional and easy to talk to. She asked questions about Loss Prevention and sales. She asked me about what I would do if a customer wasn't happy the way her return was handled and things like that. I went on a second interview and they made me the offer and I accepted.

Interviewed Jun 2011 in Westland, MI (took 1 week)
I went into Wet Seal at Westland Mall & asked for an application. I took it home, and filled it out. The next day, I dropped it off with my resume. The next day, I was asked to come in for an interview that weekend. I dressed professional, and was 5 minutes early. The interview was out in the hall way on a bench which I felt was very unprofessional, for one, I couldn't hear anything she was saying half the time because the manager sat on the very end and there were 5 applicants altogether. She asked about our past experience in retail and customer service, asked us how would we take care of a dissatisfied customer, and asked us about our education. What I thought was weird was that all of the other applicants were wearing attire I would have NEVER thought to wear for a interview: mini-skirts, low tops, and flip flops. The interview lasted about 15 minutes from start to finish. I was not offered a position for this company.

Interviewed Oct 2009 (took 1 week)
I went in to turn my application and the store manager interviewed me on the spot. Then she called me to offer me the job and I told her I would think about it. I accepted the job offer, and started working pretty soon after.

Interviewed Nov 2011 in Kissimmee, FL (took 2 days)
The Interview was really easy and very comfortable. My first interview was 1:1 with the manager then I had a group interview with the assistant manager. They were really friendly. I dressed casual but professional.
The question they asked were common sense questions like:
-What do you do if you see an employee stealing?
-Why did you choose Wet Seal?
-How do you feel about styling people?
-How do you handle an irritated customer?

Interviewed Nov 2011 in Daly City, CA (took 3 days)
The interview itself was very laidback and very casual. I went on a Saturday to pick up an application, dropped it off on Sunday, got asked to come back on Monday for an interview, went to that interview, got asked to do a second interview on Tuesday. 4 Days in a row at a mall is not fun, but if you need a job, you'll do anything.
The employees were really friendly, unlike a lot of other places. They explained everything to me and even told me who the hiring manager was, just in case I wanted to make a good first impression before the interview started.
It started with two of the assistant managers, one after the other, so that's two interviews in one day. They were both nice and friendly. After that, they said we should come tomorrow to have an interview with the actual manager.
She was really nice too. She gave us a lot of time to think about our answers, and at the end, she explained the policies. In the middle of the interview, she actually gave us hints on how to answer the next problem. She was super friendly.

Minimum wage was $8. On my application, I said I wanted $10-15, and they offered me $9. Not a big change, but eh. It's still something.

Interviewed Jul 2011 (took a day)
This was my first interview and it was a group interview as well, so it was a bit intimidating at first. Four girls, including me, in the interview. We were interviewed by the manager and I think the assistant manager.
I honestly thought the interview would center around fashion and how we keep up with trends, but I was wrong. They gave us some scenarios that would occur in the workplace and how we'd deal with them. Asked about teamwork, experience, flexibility, basically how skilled are we in working in retail.
For my interview, I wore a skirt, a blouse, a cardigan, and wedges, along with accessories. It's not an interview where you need to wear a blazer or anything, I'd keep it on the dressier side, but trendy. If you can before the interview, observe what the workers are wearing.
The ladies that interviewed us were really nice. Group interviews are a bit overwhelming, you want to show that you're outspoken, yet you don't want to be rude by interrupting people. Honestly, just try to be outspoken without being rude haha. And if you're not the first to answer, make it up by adding more quality in your responses to the questions, since you'll have more time to think clearly anyway.
Ask a lot of questions at the end of the interview, such as the dress code for work, the discount, basically anything regarding the activities of the store. It shows that you're really interested in working.

Interviewed Mar 2011 in Lexington, KY (took a day)
The new store was not open yet and there was a job fair being held in Arden B. I just walked in and filled out an application and got an interveiw on the spot. It was not nerve wrecking at all considering that the store manager thinks thought that she was 20 years younger than she was and she was very entertaining.

The interview was pretty easy. It was a group interview with two other girls. The manager basically asked a couple questions and we all took turns answering them. The questions weren't difficult at all and the manager was very friendly.

Interviewed Apr 2011 (took a day)
It was career fair at a mall and you bring filled application at the location. It was group interview and it went though pretty easy. After that, everyone got offer for second interview/test to see how do you dress as a clothing company sales associate and react/greet customer as a sales associate at a store next week. This is great company to work with but I felt that I did not fit the company's atmosphere with me so I canceled the second interview/test.

Interviewed Apr 2011 in Pittsburgh, PA (took 1 week)
I dropped off an application after finding out that they were hiring for the summer. After a week, I called to follow up on my application and when I talked to the hiring manager, she set up an interview for the upcoming Saturday. When I arrived at the store at the time we agreed on, the hiring manager wasn't even there and I had to get interviewed by a store manager instead. However, after about half an hour of questions, she told me that she didn't have the power to hire me and that I should call back to set up an interview! I felt like I wasted my time. I called two days later to set up another interview with the hiring manager, and not only did she not appologize for missing our interview, but she told me that after reviewing my application, my availability was not what they were looking for. (Meanwhile, my availability was every day, including weekends, from Open to Close). I thought the whole thing was handled very unprofessionally and I felt as if I wasted my time with the company.
