- Hardware design - hire Apple designers
- Applications breadth - focus on ecosystem
- Coverage / service - pick good carrier
The OS simply has to support the applications - its not a significant sales driver on its own, from the perspective of the user, but of course plays an important role with application developers.
As part of the above, determine whether its a mobile device for content consumption, application use or task-oriented.
