Send Answer Interview Answer 1 Answer ▲ 0 ▼ I wonder if it was a trick question, to catch whether you know the difference between "schema" as in "star schema" vs model as in "logical data model".Star Schema is physical data model which has a large fact table surrounded by a number of much smaller dimension tables. The name comes from the fact that an E-R diagram of it looks kind of like a star."Star Model" is anybody's guess. But models with richer structure are usually embedded in a star schema, especially in data warehouses, through denormalization. My guess would be star model is the more rare case when the data model really is well-represented by a star schema. BobTheNerd on May 28, 2012 Flag as Inappropriate Thank you!
