You wouldn't want to say that you can't rent Central Park because that shows defeatist thinking.

While renting Central Park poses a variety of problems, such as can you legally exclude the public from the use of the park, anything is possible.

For a project of this scope, you would want to work with top city officials. There isn't a precedent for renting the entire park. It might not have to be a strictly financial incentive. For instance, the city might enjoy the prestige of the planned event occurring in NYC, or the revenue from increased tourism might be enough to convince the city.

But as always, the answer is less important, or not at all, than the process you describe for answering the question.
