Interview Question for Community Training Specialist at YAI National Institute for People with Disabilitie:

This questions was asked in the group interview. The interviewer was evaluating whether we saw intellectually disabled people as autonomous, independent human beings. They went through possible scenarios. (What if he refused to take it unless you bought something for him? Would you punish him for not taking the medication? Would you refuse him his afternoon snack?)

The correct answers, as he explained later, were: No, don't buy anything for him. No, don't punish him. No, don't refuse him his snack. The answers were supposed to reflect YAI's philosophy of treating DD people as equals capable of making their own decisions.
