What would you do if you were on the register on a busy day

  and a guest came to you complaining that they couldn't find the shoes their son wanted?

I said have someone check back stock. What if there were none in the store, what would you do? I said send them to customer service to see if they could be ordered. What if that wasn't possible? At that point I was fumbling and didn't really have an answer.
