If my boss’s decision is logical, I will follow it. Even if I don’t agree with it. If His or her decision is not apparently logical, I will ask for more details, mainly for the purpose of clarification.
For example, during the 2004 dry dock, the Lincoln had 3 major incidents with maintenance safety that eventually sent my chief into a fit of anger. He made the logical decision to fire the 2 people in charge and replaced them with the hardest working people in the division, in the hopes that doing so would end the string of incidents. I knew the two he was to put in charge pretty well and knew they were not leaders. When he asked me, I suggested suitable replacements for the positions based on my own logic. Thankfully, he used suggestions and we finished the shipyard without any further safety issues.
