Maybe the (additional) answer he was possibly looking for was - (a) select a channel operating approximately in the middle of the frequency spectrum within which your WiFi router operates (traditionally the one with the least frequency overlap with adjacent channels) and (b) also the channel that will be used by all other wireless devices that will connect to this WiFi.
