Interviewed Jun 2011 (took 1 week)
I had received a phone call from the Director of Sales since the GM had recommended me for the Sales Coordinator position at the hotel. I was very excited since I have been wanting to get back into the hospitality field. I spoke to the DOS and scheduled an interview. I went in for my 1:1 interview the following week. After interviewing I received a phone call saying I got the job. I was excited but wanted to read over everything in their handbook since I have a health issue and wanted to make sure I would be covered by their company benefits in the health area. I found out because of a pre-exisiting condition I would have to wait 9 months after I was hired to be covered with their plan. I informed the hotel DOS every step of the way that I need to make sure my doctors are covered She said no problem just let us know. After checking in with them and keeping them up to date with everything - I was still getting positive feedback since I told them I am working on getting information from my doctors to see if they were covered on their plan. They said no problem once again. We see that you are strongly interested and staying in touch with us.
Finally I called them on a Monday morning - and told them yes I finally accept your offer and looking forward to starting. The hotel DOS said they would have to check with the GM and get back to me the next morning.
THe next morning came around and still no word from the hotel. I decided to follow up myself and I left a voicemail for the DOS. The DOS returned my call - and left a message saying that they appreciate my strong interest in their property but unfortunately had to chose an internal candidate...hope you didn't resign from your current job yet.
I was furious! Lack of professionalism in the way they conducted business.

Negotiation Details
I would never recommend this company to someone to apply for in the end, management does not care about a potential candidates situation and who knows maybe it was a blessing in disguise I didn't land the job.
Other Details
I got the interview through an Employee Referral and the interview consisted of a Phone Interview and a 1:1 Interview.
