Assistant Manager

I applied in-person and the process took 3 days - interviewed at Williams-Sonoma.

Interview Details – I was a walk in applicate and that is how many stores hire unless you are coming from within the store. I had two interviews first was with the general manger of the location and it was very quick because they did need someone to be ready for the holiday rush. All questions were based on experience and managing style. Design background isn't a requirement but it doesn't hurt. Second interview was with the District Manager similar questions based on management experience and communication style. There is a very steep learning curve for Pottery Barn and my interview with the District Manger turned into a working interview.

Interview Question – For the operations role, we did a walk through of the stock room. From a outside perspective it was difficult to know how the back of house process ran day to day but I was asked how to optimize the space and what systems would I put into place.   Answer Question

I applied in-person and the process took 1 week - interviewed at Williams-Sonoma in June 2011.

Interview Details – I originally spoke with the Manager to organize a time to be able to get back to speak further regarding the opening of an Assistant Manager position. We had a very relaxed, productive interview.
The manager eventually did respond back to me that they had hired someone else~ someone with more experience and qualifications, but understandably the better person for the job.

Interview Question – Think of a position in which you were challenged by a customer and what did you do?   Answer Question
