Interviewed Jan 2012 in Minneapolis, MN (took 2 months)
I was first contacted via email about setting up an interview for the position. The interview was set up for nearly 2 weeks out from the date of the original email (December 2011). When the time came for the actual interview, my original contact was out sick, so I was interviewed by someone else. The first interview was rather disorganized,as my interviewer confessed to not conducting these sorts of things often. I met two other employees during the course of this interview, and I was able to talk pretty freely with them. There were not many "real" interview questions; the approach was more anecdotal. When I asked about next steps, I was told that there were 2 openings: one for January and one for February and they would be in touch regarding the February position. I sent a thank-you email to my original contact, expressing my regrets that she couldn't be there and she confirmed that we should connect again after the first of the year (2 weeks or so).
After the first, I sent an email and we agreed on a time for me to come in - again, 2 weeks out. When I arrived (expecting another panel interview), I was met with the original contact. We talked for probably 10 minutes, and she basically told me that there was no position available at the company. The February-start position was no longer on the table, and while there *might* be one available in the future, it would be months out at best. She wanted to make sure that she could pass along my resume to other divisions, but she had no idea if they were hiring.

Interviewed Jan 2012 (took 3 months)
Started with online application. Was invited in for a Numeracy and Verbal Reasoning test with about 25 people on the day I went in. Several rounds of this are held. About 500 people are picked from the initial lot applying.
I got through to a Group Assessment day and first round of interviews. Following a scenario group assignment we all had 4 separate 15 minute interviews with various middle management.
I was invited back to another round of interviewing, this time 1/2 hour sessions with 4 different people of the hiring business units.
Having worked through the teams that were interested I was invited back for 3 more interviews with senior management from the interested teams.
Very different interviews styles, people gave a good impression and were generally friendly and helpful.

Interviewed Oct 2011 in Richmond, VA (took 6+ weeks)
Initial interview was with Executive V.P.; second interview was with a panel (producer, acct exec, service manager and exec VP). There was more bragging from Willis about the elite accounts/clients they handle and the fact they operate with 100% transparency than anything else. I was looking for details on duties, workflow, day-to-day operations and what was expected of the position. The Willis staff were busy doing a commercial for themselves to impress me!
Interview Questions
Reason for Declining
They were changing to a complete new Agency Management System as of 02/15/12 but had not started any training on it as yet. No one seemed to have a clear handle on exactly how the information from the old system would be migrated to the new system. It seemed like it would be chaos for quite a while, and the Applied "Epic" System they were going to is very new and untested.

Interviewed Jul 2011 in City of London, England (United Kingdom) (took 1 week)
The first interview consisted of a 2:1 setup and appeared to be an initial screening interview to asertain my motivations for working in the company and in the sector. I was able to answer most questions as I had researched the company and the general role, although I had not specifically searched reinsurance, which I was asked about, meaning I wasn't able to answer that question. The first interview was not competency based, but mainly consisted of questions regarding why I applied to Willis, what I thought I would be doing in the role, and how I would be a good candidate to work in their Tokyo branch (as I would transfer after 2-3) years. The second stage consisted of aptitude tests including verbal and mathematical skills. The final interview stage was more specific and focused more on my past achievements and competencies. I didn't receive an offer but I was not that surprised as it was not my best interview, as I had been quite ill during the week of the recuriting process, but it was a learning experience.

Interviewed May 2007 (took 4 weeks)
Ve office. It was a very informal interview process. I was called by a Willis recruiter and set up an interview. I met with the hiring manager and afterwards went to lunch with several people. The next interview was lunch with the head of the office. The last interview was with the Regional VP. This interview was in another city and Willis flew me there and back in the same day.

Interviewed Apr 2008 in Charlotte, NC (took 3 days)
A friend of mine told me that their was an opening in her office, so I gave the hiring manager a call. We chatted briefly and a meeting was arranged shortly thereafter. and gave him a call expressing interest in the position open. The position I was applying for was basically the same as what I was I was doing for another company, so that took a lot of pressure off. Also, I had worked for the company I was interested in before, so I was familiar with them and their corporate culture. The first interview was over lunch. I met with both parties I would be working with. Even though we were sizing each other up, it was not an intimidating meeting and we got along well. I immediately liked the team leaders because they were "straight shooters," and it's important to me to work with people of integrity. The second interview was with the two team leaders and one other person, a business unit manager, whose judgment they trusted. The BUM explained the "nuts and bolts" of the position's responsibilities, along with the available systems in use. I was able to ask real specific questions about the position, which the team leads would not have been able to address. The office was smaller than the one I was coming from, but it was still a nice work environment and everyone seemed busy, but not stressed out.
