Interviewed Oct 2011 (took 2 weeks)
I applied for the position through the company website. I was contacted within one week to schedule an initial interview. The first interview was conducted by two local company representatives along with the regional HR person and consisted of the typical Q&A session, "tell me about yourself", etc. Several days after the first interview I was contacted to schedule the second interview. This interview was conducted by a regional department rep and again was pretty loose with some standard questions and a little more detail oriented Q&A. Almost one week after the second interview, I was contacted to schedule the third interview. This interview is with a corporate director who's flying in for the occassion and I'm expecting that this interview will be more structured and hopefully the last before an offer is made.

Interviewed Oct 2011 in Ocala, FL (took a day)
I had an 1:1 interview with a hiring manager. First asked me to tell them a little bit about myself. Then went on to explain the positin for which I was applying for and the rate of pay. Then gave me several different scenarios on how I would deal with customers.

I felt there was no need for negotiation. The rate of pay seemed good, and a bit more then what I'm used to in a retail/grocery store.

Interviewed Mar 2010 in Jacksonville, FL (took a day)
The HR department at Winn-Dixie is especially helpful. They're organized, responsive, and descriptive in their communication. I'd advise anyone taking an interview to do some research on the company and be ready to say what value you'll add to the company.
Negotiation Details
No, I was not given the opportunity to negotiate.

Interviewed Oct 2010 (took 2 weeks)
After the application was in, I called to check on the status. The hiring manager told me they were hiring for my position and that I should come in for an interview. In the interview, the manager told me all the aspects of the job and asked how would handle each of the responsibilities. The hiring manager then referred me to the store director who also did a short interview just asking a few more questions before offering me the job. After offered, I had to go through a drug test, then orientation and cashier training.

Interviewed Aug 2010 in Jacksonville, FL (took 2 months)
The company is still rebounding and rebuilding from bankruptcy, so money is tight. They are in competition with WalMart and Publix, and have a lot of work to do!
Also, it seems the company believes in having many people involved in a single hiring decision. I met with 8 people total during the process and had two in-person interviews. That is, after passing a phone screen with a recruiter and then one with the hiring manager. This was for a middle management position.
My 1st meeting involved a series of six 1-hour interviews with a mix of dept staff, HR mgmt, the hiring mgr and key internal customers. My 2nd meeting was 4 hours long, and including repeat meetings with 3 people plus meeting a Group VP. Some interviewers took a more formal approach with behavior-based questions, but others seemed like they had chosen/composed their own questions.
It seems like the director-level staff and above work very long hours. There are people in the company who have been there for many years, and they often think very differently about the business than the newer staff who've joined the company during or after the bankruptcy. The new people seemed very sharp and many joined from high-profile companies around the U.S.
Pluses of working there: Everyone dresses business casual and the company offers employees a 5% store discount on groceries. The headquarters office has an onsite pharmacy and a decent cafeteria.
