Interviewed Aug 2011 (took 2 weeks)
The interview was enjoyable and divided into 2 parts. My interview was at noon so some candidates had their 1:1 interview first followed by the group case study and presentation; I started with the case study/presentation. Their were 8 of us interviewing and we were all ushered into a room where they broke us up into 2 groups and each gave us a case study where we had to apply a real life consulting recommendation after analyzing 4 potential options and selecting the best one. It was a very enjoyable exercise. We were all recent business graduates specializing in different business functions which allowed us to give a well rounded recommendation. After reading and discussing for 30 minutes we presented to one of the interviewers. They mainly want to see how well you work in a group, work under time constraints without a computer and how honed in your presentation skills are. This is a good test because at the end of the day, those are things you will have to do for the clients.
The 1:1 was casual and conversational. There were no analytic questions. I walked the interviewer through my resume. I was asked about international experiences that I had had during undergrad. I explained details about some of my professional experiences. I was not asked a lot about my working knowledge of my major. Wipro utilizes people of varying business background and their training is very in-depth so I imagine they trust your GPA (as an entry level applicant) speaks for your ability to learn your major.
Best advice is to exhibit that you know how to learn, can communicate well and want the job. If you're interviewing for Wipro in North America I recommend you know about which verticals you may work for and which needs each domain of the given vertical. If you don't understand this jargon it's alright, go to their website and research.
Overall enjoyable experience with professional and friendly interviewers that you can tell enjoy their job and know their company and their functions well.
