Very Easy Interview
I applied online - interviewed at World Vision in April 2012.
Interview Details – There were two total interviews: 1 phone interview and 1 in-person interview. Both consisted of standard behavioral questions. Both were very easy. The in-person interview included a tour of the building containing the call center (high ceiling with short cubicles so you can see everyone; pleasant atmosphere). The entire process was about 1 hour.
Interview Question – There truly was not any unexpected question. Just prepare with standard behavioral interview questions (a challenge you encountered previously and how you overcame it, how would you deal with a difficult donor interaction without manager available, etc.). Answer Question
Very Easy Interview
I applied online and the process took 3 days - interviewed at World Vision in March 2013.
Interview Details – Two interviews, one with the hiring manager and the second with the team
Interview Question – Nothing unordinary, a lot of behavioral questions Answer Question
Negotiation Details – The company does not support telecommuting for salaried employees. Negotiation was not difficult.
I applied online and the process took 3 days - interviewed at World Vision.
Interview Details – HR phone screen plus six interviews over two days.
Interview Question – Interview process was grueling and repetitive. Met perhaps 15 or 16 people. Questions repeated so often that I wondered if it would have been easier to have a polygraph machine attached.
10 minutes of each hour long interview was dedicated to asking me about my Christian faith. As a baptized but not overly devout Catholic, I was wary about this. I told them that I had no problem with one weekly prayer.
Worst part was the meltdown in the final interview by a prospective colleague. I asked a work choice/ workload-related question and then she fully snapped, going off on me... It became obvious that they were overworked very badly. Answer Question
I applied online and the process took 3 months - interviewed at World Vision in March 2009.
Interview Details – I had an initial interview with HR and then had 3 additional interviews before I got the job. Interview questions lead me to believe that there was going to be travel and the job would be a very fun and relaxed environment - (none of which were true in teh end)
Interview Question – Can you raise $100,000 in on year. View Answer
Negotiation Details – No negotiations available.
I applied online and interviewed at World Vision.
Interview Details – I applied online and was called within a week for a phone screen interview with HR. A week later they called and told me over the phone I didn't advance to the next interview round. I think they were being professional with the personal phone call, but if I didn't get the job I prefer a personal email.
Interview Question – World Vision is definitely a Christian organization and sharing your faith is a part of the interview. Answer Question
I applied through other source and the process took 2 weeks - interviewed at World Vision in April 2009.
Interview Details – Small local job fair. Very polite and professional. Met at their Federal Way headquarters and performed interviews for dozens of people.
Interview Question – Salary. Answer Question
Negotiation Details – Very little negotiation for salary. They had standard rate and with no previous experience, didn't have anyway to ask for more.
I applied online and the process took 2 days - interviewed at World Vision in November 2012.
Interview Details – I applied online and was called for an interview a couple of weeks later. The recruiter who called me was very nice. I interviewed at the Federal Way headquarters and got a chance to tour the visitor center before my interview to learn more about the company. I would recommend that to anyone who is thinking of working there. I interviewed with a recruiter as well as the department lead. All in all, the interview was pretty easy.
Interview Question – They really didn't ask me anything out of the ordinary. I knew they were going to ask me about my faith in Jesus which would have thrown me off initially. But I knew they were going to ask it so I was prepared. Answer Question
I applied in-person and interviewed at World Vision.
Interview Details – Applied online. Had an interview session with the department head and another manager. There is a pre-interview questionnaire which is several pages long. It covers questions about your faith, reasons why you want to work at World Vision, your personality type and several questions about whether you agree with World Vision's values. If the interviewers are satisfied with your responses, you get called for a face-to-face interview.
Reason for Declining – I found the tone of the interview confrontational and at times condescending.
I applied through other source and the process took a day - interviewed at World Vision in May 2010.
