Declined Offer – Interviewed in San Francisco, CA – Reviewed May 14, 2013 New
Interview Details –
Setting up the interview was rocket science - The recruiter contacted me and asked when I was available, then she said she was unavailable for the next week and half. We finally scheduled a date and time, and then I got an email two days later with the same canned "I am busy for x days, please say when you can talk." I was confused and replied that I thought we had set a date, to which she replied "That's fine." Yikes.. great first impression.
We finally spoke, and I was completely grilled on my background. For recent graduates, the job market has been incredibly tough, so of course there have been many internships to fill the time. You have to take what you can get, other than flipping burgers. She could not seem to get over this and apparently does not follow the US jobs reports.
A few minutes into the grilling, she asked to put me on hold of all things, and at that point I said that I did not feel this was a good fit and did not wish to continue the interview. That is NOT someone I would want to work with.

Got a interview call in-person straight, did not have any phone interview. I went for interview, met 2 managers, and one rep. Interview went well, straight forward questions, spent around 15-20 minutes with each of the managers and the rep. They all were friendly, and the ended the interview with positive comments. Next day in the morning, one of the managers I interviewed with called back, to invite me for next round of interviews with a manager, and director of IT. I also got email and call from an HR rep to have a background check of me. I got call from my previous employer that Xactly is doing a background check on me. Sound promising for now, my hopes were high, however, the battle is not over until the offer is given. Three days later, I went for the second round of interviews. It started off with meeting the director of IT. The strange part was he mentioned "let me open up Google in my laptop here to find some questions to ask"..He was choosing random questions that had absolutely no connection to position or my background. Of course, there are always behavior questions that employer may ask, but this guy only asked behavior question, which I later discovered on Google 's list of tricky questions...in other words, I got the impression, this guy just wants to ask tricky questions, and get over with it. He just spent 20 mins, and said he has a meeting, and whether I have any questions for him..I asked couple of questions, and his answered were "I don’t know, i am not familiar with the position you are applying for"...the dumbest question that i have ever came acroos from any employer here was "there has to be something you did not like in your last job, what would that be, and whose fault is that?"..in other words, making me say something negative,,which I still did not say anything negative..still again he asked,,whose fault is that?
Tha manager came if after to interview, just asked one question, and went straight to "i dont have any question, you have any questions for me" . i asked few question, interview ended..and all my hopes died...First round was excellent, company environment and culture looked excellent, but interview with this director, was just the worse interview I ever had...not only because, I may have not done well, but the questions asked by him, made me rethink on whether i see my self working with such people...i still see a great fast growing company, great culture, but a heads up for future interviewers.

Interview Details – Extremely disorganized and uprofessional! An Xactly recruiter emailed me via and we arranged a phone meeting. She never called. I followed up twice, and she responded as if we had never been in contact and I was being a nuisance. Then she claimed she couldn't sponsor me to work in the US and essentially "Don't call me; I'll call you." My profile states that I'm a permanent resident.

After several conversations by phone I was brought in to meet the team and work through the intro to culture process. I was immediately turned off by words such as "Young", "good looking", and "hip"
Apparently the process is visual as well as related to personality and skill. It was very hard to not get up and walk out.

It was the most funny interview ever. First of all, the interviewer didnot call on time. Seemed the panel was not available. Then I called up the consultant who organized the call. Then one HR called me up . She asked me generic questions in the beginning , and later, she said she will ask java questions :DD
She asked some crap basic questions, and said my expectations, and if I was interested to reduce my expectations and join. When I said I will not reduce my expectation, she suddenly said she will get back to me.Horrible interview ..never apply in this company.

Interview Details – Interviewed by an outsourced HR company that really doesn't "get" what you do and asks some really inane questions. I was explaining an example of determining the goals and desired outcomes of a customer marketing event. Me "Well, I start by communicating with the event stakeholders". She asks: "so how did you do that?". ( That was her standard question to everything I said, "so how did you do that?". Me (explaining how I communicated): "I picked up the phone and called the executive in charge of the project. Her: "So, how did you do that?". (What, she needs me to explain how to use a phone?). Maybe she was baiting me -- but I had the distinct feeling that the interviewer didn't really know what the Xactly Marketing Manager was looking and had no idea how to interview for the position. Ah, another reason I am not fond of HR vetting!
