I applied in-person. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Yard House (San Jose, CA) in February 2013.

Interview

They have a 3 interview process. #1 a meet and greet, #2 a meeting with the bar manager, and #3 a meeting with the general manger. I didn't get to #3.

Interview Questions

  • The bar manager asked some unlawful questions like do I have kids and if it would be difficult to leave them at night since I would be working some nights. It's not relevant to qualifications. They need to train their managers a little bit better   Answer Question

    I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Yard House (Scottsdale, AZ) in January 2008.

    Interview

    There were 2 interviews, first with the GM and second with the bar manager. The bar manager had me do a pour test on the spot, which I didn't expect. The questions were standard, previous work experience, teamwork, etc. Asked me some general recipe questions. People were very nice but somewhat cold. Culture is very corporate, expected for a big restaurant, but really on the extreme side.
