Interview Question for Senior Software Engineer at Go Daddy:

You have been given two pieces of flammable rope. The speed at which each individual rope can burn is inconsistent, but if you light the end with a match, the short rope will take 30 minutes to burn and the long rope takes an hour. How can you used the ropes to determine when 45 minutes have passed?

I guess that would depend on how many matches you have. If you had only one match that would change the answer. Some questions are only asked to elicit a response.
Based on my interview experience with GD they sometimes don't care if you get the answer right. They want to see how you react to the question.
