Interviewed Oct 2011 (took 2 weeks)
First round interviews consisted of one case and one behavioral interview. Subsequent 2nd round interviews consisted of a case, a panel interview with a presentation and a behavioral interview. Cases were typical strategy cases while the behavioral focused on personal strengths / weaknesses, leadership, project management style, etc. The panel interview was my toughest interview that I had with any firm and really tested your ability to get a lot done in a short period. Overall, the interviews were a great experience. The office culture is not stuffy while everyone I met was quite friendly and knowledgeable. I wasn't sure about ZS until I met the people, which made me realize that it was a great opportunity.

Interviewed Jul 2011 in London, England (United Kingdom) (took a day)
The recruiting process at ZS comprises 3 stages : an online test for analytical skills, a phone interview, and then a series of on-site interviews. Be prepared to get drilled on numbers and calculations, as it will be the main part of the interviews!
Everyone is friendly, dressed casually, and all is done to make you feel at ease.

Interviewed Oct 2009 in Toronto, ON (Canada) (took a day)
I had 2 half-hour back to back interviews, one behavioural and one case. While the interviewers were very friendly, I did not feel like I connected with them. The names and positions of the interviewers remained a mystery until I actually met them, and even then one person remained without a last name or a position title. The other person introduced himself more thoroughly (he was a principal).
I had 4 behavioural questions in total, 2 of which already exist on this site.

Interviewed Apr 2008 (took 2 days)
I initially applied online. I was called a few days later for a screening interview with an HR professional which consisted mostly about discussing in depth the details of my resume as well as supporting my interest in the company. Next I was invited for a series of 1:1 interviews which included cases as well as behavioral/fit interview. The next day I was invited for a second round of interviews which took place shortly afterwards and included more case and behavioral/fit interviews as well as panel presentation.

Interviewed Oct 2009 in Ithaca, NY (took 1+ week)
The company seems to have a positive work environment and general positive atmosphere. The interview consisted of a 1:1 behavioral portion for 30 minutes followed by a 30 minute 1:1 skills assessment. Anyone with a basic economics background should be able to answer the questions although there were a few tricks to them.
