I applied through a recruiter and the process took 3 weeks - interviewed at eBay Inc. in May 2013.
Interview Details – Initial contact from ebay recruiter based on linkedin profile, set up initial get to know you call that was short and sweet. Arranged for an initial face 2 face with hiring manager which was fairly informal but went well - not a lot of tough questions just mostly background questions. Second round interview with a couple of potential peer managers, again fairly informal but did go into a few technical questions. Didn't hear from them again after second round, no response to email queries.

I was contacted by 2 separate recruiters for 2 positions. I went through a phone screen for one of the positions, but never heard back/received any feedback (positive or negative) from the recruiter afterwards. Very unprofessional.
For the other position in Redmond, WA, the on-site interview consisted of 6 straight interviews in one day, with only 30 mins. (!) for lunch, where they continued to interview me while eating. I found the quality level of interviewing to be low on average, consisting very standard coding questions and coding trivia questions. Finally at the end of the day, there was confusion as to how to get me back to my hotel from the office: it took over an hour just to figure out how to hail a taxi.

I applied through a recruiter and the process took 4+ weeks - interviewed at eBay Inc. in March 2013.
Interview Details – I applied directly to the eBay site. They are expanding in the Seattle area and it looked to be a good fit for my skills. The recruiting staff was very punctual and did a good job in arranging an informational interview. I did not have a good interview, but frankly I just choked. I guess it happens in interviews. The person I met with asked me some reasonable high-level design questions and emphasized that next steps would involve "technical" questions. I decided not to pursue for my own reasons, but there is nothing from the contact I had with them that would make me dissuade others.
Interview Question – A big focus in the interview was on data - quantifying and identifying strategies for dealing with "big data". Answer Question
